Hi everyone :wavey: , we are travelling with Virgin to Florida in July 2007. My son Justin, 3 has multiple disabilities: he has a Prader-Willi Like Syndrome, Hypotonia (Muscle Weakness) - no mobility, is NG tube fed, and requires oxygen 24/7.
My first, probably of many ;) questions is has anyone else had experience of travelling with Virgin using their services for oxygen?
They have been very helpful and reassuring but I am still nervous! :omg:
Any help would be appreciated.
Tnx Wendi

Welcome to the Dibb Wendi.
Our DS2 had disabilities but doesn't need oxygen unless he has major seizures. We have always traveled with Virgin to Florida and not had any bother. They are excellent with Special Needs.
All I would say is to make sure you have more than adequate travel insurance for your son.

Hi Wendi... i travel with VA at least twice a year for many years now and recall often the times i have had to put my stuff in overhead lockers with medical equiptment and oxygen cylinders in the locker already. Being ex-ambulance it is second nature to look out for this as you never know.......
Last year we had an incident of a heart attack on a VA flight and there was at least 7 people on board ranging from a surgeon to an ITU nurse to a paramedic, i stood back as they were more trained than me but nevertheless i made it known incase i could have been of help and went back and sat down, the crew have a special link up with medical centres arround the world for specialist advice etc . Our casualty was critical and we had an emergency landing in Canada where he was removed and we later found out he was ok and VA delt with his onward travel back to UK.
I dont think you will have any worries as the staff are very good.
