Hi,

I've just booked the Dine with Shamu experience for August 2008.

I've had the confirmation, but I cannot find any details about (a) what time this will be, and (b) where we will be seated.

When do we normally get these details? Is it on the day? Or is there a way of finding out beforehand?

Thanks,

When i went last june, time was not confirmed till i arrived on the day and the seats i believe are allocated on arrival,, possibly you could ask for the row closest the lagoon when you check in on arrival in the park at customer services just beyond the gates,

But as far as the times go it would be late afternoon as its more of a dinner than lunch,,

I am waiting on the Shamu Rocks Pre-show Dinner days and times (they do have a pre determined time for the rocks dinner) being released so i can book it for next june

We did this last June and you find out the time at the desk when you get to Seaworld, and the tables are all laid out ready and they know where everyone is sitting, so I guess you could try and ask but not sure what they would do. All tables are close anyway

You need to check at Guest Services on the day I believe, but it is generally around 4pm if you got Sitting 1 (often only one on the day) - I have been told here on several threads that tables are allocated from when you booked them, not at time of arrival on the day. So the earlier you book, the closer to Shamu you get.
Also to arrive at the place about 20 mins before the time they say!

seats are definately not allocated on arrival but when you book. we arrived just a few minutes before 4pm and most tables were full but we were seated poolside ( i had booked about 6 months in advance)

We booked in March for December and we were right at the front , right next to the pool. You are better booking early, but every one gets a great view anyway. Must have to say it wasn't as good as it has been in the past. No food for little one, my 3 year old is not a fussy eater but she ate nothing at all, cos there was just nothing for her.

I booked mine in January for October so hopefully we'll be sitting at the front. Think the time for Dine with Shamu is about 4.15 I know on the park map we have from the year before it says 4.15 on that.

The concerige from our hotel phoned on the day for us , said she would get through on the number she had rather than me calling. Told time was 4:15 i arrived about 4:05 and quite a few people where in already, but as was said, iknew seats where allocated when you made reservation and my name was second on the list and had a great table.

Would you recommend this experience? Four adults and 2 kids is almost $200 ? Thanks. Looks popular as there are only a few days left in July when we are going.

They are all poolside arnt they?? when we went they were set lenthways towards the pool.

when we were there, there were 2 rows of tables positioned lengthwise from the pool. we were at the table immediately against the poolside. the people on the table next to us were potentially 7 or 8 seats away from poolside ( depending where they were sitting at their table)

Yeah, they had the 2 rows when we went too. I think we booked about 2 months in advance for beginning of July, and we were seated on the outside row. In previous years we've just booked on the day. Never been on the poolside tables so would assume the tables are allocated depending on when you booked, which is fair enough. Fantastic though, we love it!

We went in October last year. We got our time when we booked (well seating 1, it didn't actually say the time, this was confirmed when we arrived at the park), I booked well in advance and we had poolside seats, the view was fantastic as was the food, especially the banana foster.

yes it was very good and would definetly book again.
Just a note if there is anyone over 50 in your party consider buying a senior AP for Seaworld, you will get 10% of food -merchandise and character dining and free parking.

I booked last night too and she said it would be at about 4pm and to go to the tour centre when you arrive and they will tell you what time and where to go.
Can anyone tell me how much they paid I paid $144 for 3 adults and one child and just checked the website and think I have paid too much as I worked it out to be $114 so am going to call back today and double check.

Hi, booked mine last night too, don't forget to add tax to the deal. For 6 of us, worked out cheaper than dining "with the sharks" (although the meal won't be as good), the experience is worth it.
