View Full Version : Buying pictures from your website - Help!
Are there any sites I could link pictures on my website too that would enable visitors to buy that pic and the pic would get delivered direct to them?
I am thinking of something similar to amazon's associates system where you can give links to books and the website gets money back from anyone that purchases.
Anyone know of anything suitable?
Thanks

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear (It must have been too late). If I have my own website containing pictures (It is a school website). Are there any companies out there that would enable the parents to purchase a copy of the image and would then give a % of the sale to my school. I am thinking similar to what happens with amazon when a book is bought through their formatted links?
Any ideas?

Can you not get the pictures printed yourself and sell them? Tescos are doing 8x10 prints for 12p at the moment, they are pretty good quality , and you could stick them in cardboard frame like you get with school photos and charge what you like. The school would probably get quite a bit of profit that way.
If the website is in the public domain (i.e not password protected and limited to parents / teachers / children) at the school, you may find many parents wont allow their kids pictures to go on it. Our school website has no pics of kids on the public pages, although the kids have their own pages, it is password protected.
Another approach would be to ring round a few local photographers and see if you can link up with them, but "profit" will be very small I would have thought.
Stu who runs this site, designs & runs web sites so Im sure he could hook up the technical bits for you (he is very reasonable ;) ) once you get an affliate on board.
You can sell your images through photobox

They do take quite a bit cut though. I do event photography and find it better to process the photo orders myself rather than letting a third party sell them for me.
