just wondered if anyone can give me a bit of re-assurance

we need medical seats which I know can't be booked but row 2 looks like is blocked coming up with a line through it with the wording unavailable to book. this is on most of the airline seating configurations

understand the 1st row being not able to book can anyone tell me if the 2nd row also falls under the same rule / category

we need the cruilling harness which will encrouge on the second row so tad worried that if they allocate the 1st row and let someone else book 2nd row it will be a major problem
TA is phoning them but wondered if anyone at experience of the rows

was this not on your special needs form when you booked ?

I don't know the situation with Virgin but I know on the Continental flights we book that they make the first 9 or so rows unavailable to select on line. These are kept for their Elite passengers and those with medical needs. We are able to get seats in these rows and just have to call to explain why.

I am guessing that Virgin may keep these seats for the same reasons so I'm sure when your TA calls and explains the situation that they will be able to allocate them to you

We had a crelling harness for dd and spoke to special assistance. They just said some of our party would have to use the seats behind. As it was the harness was not any good for dd and the flight was empty.
I would phone them.

You are travelling with MyTravel in Premiair Gold, right?

We were told that Mytravel have certain rows blocked for passengers with medical needs so they are not generally available to reserve, they can only be pre-selected by the special needs department or allocated at check-in. As long as your son's medical needs are noted on the booking then the seats you need will be allocated to you. I would speak to the special needs department yourself as the one time I trusted a TA to do this it all went pear shaped :( I would always double check myself for peace of mind.

Have you tried or used the crelling harness before? Just wondering how it was. Crelling offer a loan facility if you need to try before your trip.

they have been really helpful . they have noted everything but TA forgot to mention row 2. we used the harness last year and it encrouched onto the row behind . it was actually quite a laugh with the crew and my DH but had it been a stranger behind I can imagine them being a tad grumpy !!

wanted all your expect opinion re row 2 as looking at all the plane layouts row 2 comes up unavailable to book and row 1 says medical needs. I have emailed the TA

I would advise you to make contact with the special assistance people. They are usually very accomodating. My experience is generally get the travel agent to set things up and then phone special assistance yourself to clarify things. Also by speaking to them yourself you have the reassurance that they really do know of your needs.
