Epcot is great, my whole family really enjoy it, my younger brother who 11 included. It has a few big rides, Test Track, Soarin', and Mission Space, and a lot of other great lade back rides. The world showcase is great to look around, the theming really is amazing. The park is large, but laid back in my opinion. Its hard to say in general what its like but I think you'll really enjoy it!

We loved it last year! We are going back in 09 and it will be our first stop as we bought a 'leave a legacy' so will be great to see my two DS pics on wall.

I agree, Epcot is fantastic. I know quite a few people don't like World Showcase, but I find it really interesting, and definately a tradition to walk round all the countries. Granted, I miss a few of the films now! The food is really good in each, as is the theming. Maelstrom is one of my favourite rides! I hope you really enjoy it

It's fantastic. It is not a big rides park (although there are a few) but it is different and the night time firework display is one of the best. I love Epcot, one of my favourite parks!

Not one of the best parks I've got to admit. Half a day will do it . Test Track, Mission Space and Soaring are great, Nemo is ok, but the rest is in snoozeville. Sorry but you did ask.

The first time we went in 2001, we only had a week, and as I didn't have the film in my camera correctly the day we went to MK, we had to go again (any excuse eh?), which meant we had to knock a park on the head, and it was Epcot. Although we did manage a night time visit, but little did I know what I was missing.
When I returned in 2004 Epcot was well and truly on my to do list, and World Showcase has become one of my favourite places in the whole world. We love it there and is on our itinerary twice on our next visit.
Illuminations is worth the trip alone!!!

when we went in 04 we didnt really enjoy it, but i think that was down to my ds(who was only 3 at the time not being very well that day) but we are going to give it a try when we go again in may as we think we might enjoy it more now hes older and the fireworks are meant to be one of the best.

We loved EPCOT. This was one of dh fav parks, and it has to be in my top 3. It can be as busy or as laid back as you want. Also it is a long day and def tiring but worth it. You do have the main attraction rides like Test Track,Mission Space, and Soarin, plus there are other more relaxing rides like Nemo, Living the lands tour of how Disney use their enviroment to produce fruit/veg etc. Sounds boring but it is actually very interesting and fun seeing mickey shape pumkins! The worldshowcase is great and there is always something hppening around each corner. Last but not least is the fireworks andnight show. It is fantastic. Def worth a visit and plan for a whole day.
liked it 9 years ago, now i am older, (22) i love it! :d:

It's my favorite park, really laid back but loads to see and do. I love the low-key things, like the entertainers in the different lands, the food! the atmosphere, it's just a really pleasant place for a stroll in the sun.

It's my favourite park too.....I think so many people don't really give it a chance....you have to take the time to explore all the different countries in world showcase...We'll usually go 3/4 times during our holiday...a great park to sit in the sun and people watch...Illuminations....not to be missed...IMO better than Wishes...Mission Space....love it....a fantastic experience....where else can you really think you're an astronaut...Give Epcot a chance....I really don't get how anyone can say it's boring

We liked in back in 1989,2000,2001, 2002, 2004 (missed a year due to working overseas)....get the picture - every time we visited we went to EPCOT.
It is a park that can take a long time to discover everything, or it can be as short as you want it to be. Totally agree with comments on Night Time Fireworks and Illuminations the music is fantastic.

We liked Epcot last year - it was our first trip to Disney Orlando and we found this park less stressful than the others. The "big" rides like Soarin, Test Track, Mission Space are great and we even enjoyed Spaceship Earth which is a nice relaxing train journey inside the globe. The coke station is also a bonus - though some of the drinks not very appealing.

I last went when i was 12, and didn't really enjoy it because I was constantly looking for rides! fast forward 7 years and I can't wait to go now. Think I will appreciate the World Showcase more now that I am older . test track is amazing...!!!

Epcot is a fantastic park, it's basically two parks in one and definately needs more than one day to truly see everything. Future World is great and has some amazing attractions, and thrill rides. World Showcase is amazing, you can spend a full day exploring and experiencing everything it has to offer. To top it all off Illuminations is probably one of the best (if not THE best) firework displays in the world, a fantasstic way to end the day.

I agree with most here. what Epcot ISN'T is a "big thrills" park. The emphasis is on education and culture. That said, Mission Space is brilliant (avoid the weedy non-spinning lane, do the proper version). So is Test Track, and Soarin'. My tip: don't miss Turtle Talk with Crush - we loved it.

If we could only go to one park it would be Epcot. It has always been our favourite and DD has loed it since she was 3. Now she's older she loves the big rides and we love the restaurants in world showcase and IllumiNations is our absolute favourite fireworks display. This trip we've got a real treat as Steve (Highlander447) has invited us to join his family on an IllumiNations cruise -something we've always wanted to do so we're really looking forward to it.

Epcot is my favourite Disney park :spin: was DDs too when she was 18 months old, think it was the ball LOL
I cannot really say if you would like Epcot or not because I can see how some people don't appreciate World Showcase but I for one love to stop and smell the roses as it were and find it even better in the evenings.
infact I remember being quite dissappointed when they built TT and Mission Space because upto that point it was a park that my whole family could enjoy absolutely everything together without having to hold bags etc .. though I love TT and Mission space Epcot didn't need 'thrill rides' imo but hey ho times change
Also one of you fav parks although I have a few friends who just dont like it :erm: . Its just different from the other parks somehow. Still some big rides but not overwhelming. I love walking through the diff countries and trying the different things to eat. DB's (aged 7 and 3yrs also love. Will be our 3rd park to visit after Magic Kingdom and Animal kingdom.

As you can see plenty of divided opinion, so You'll just have to try it for yourself. I reckon its my favourite, as it's not as in our face or as ridiculously busy as some of the other parks. Soaring is great, and the Living Seas is loved by my kids. Personally, I just love wandering round world showcase, watching the live music, and entertainment. You've got to watch Myuki in Japan, (spelling awful probably), and the Beatles tribute band in England are a bit of fun. Last time I was there, we saw the Four Tops!! a bit cheesy, but still worth a watch.

Our best days always happen in Epcot. We always have the best time because there is something for everyone and the day is finished of by the fantastic fireworks.
My kids are science loving kids so they are quite happy spending hours in innovations. Also Mission Space is probably our favourite ride and there is also the brilliant test track.

the park is very good, the fireworks are the best that you will see anywhere in florida, mission space, test track are a MUST DO!!!!!!
World showcase is pretty good as well.
Dont forget as you walk into the park you can leave a legacy, I only done ours in 2006 as I thought it would be expensive, its not, its worth doing cant wait to go back and see ours. :wavey:
Epcot is simply  material. On our last visit to Orlando we had 21 day tickets for WDW but didn't go to Epcot as (in our opinion) it's not worth the effort. OK, Test Track and Mission Space are reasonably good rides but that's it for rides. In 2005 I actually fell asleep on "Universe of Energy" and had to be woken up!
As for the World Showcase, it's just a bunch of shops and cafes around a lake; if I wanted to go shopping I don't see why I should have to pay to get in! The real proof of the point of Epcot is when they close the part with the rides but leave the WS open for much longer. Of course, this has nothing to do with herding the remaining guests into an area crammed with shops, does it?
As someone said earlier, Epcot is a half-a-day park. I'd arrive early, get the decent rides done and then get out before boredom sets in!
