View Full Version : Taxi cost from Newark to Manhattan?
We are hoping to do 3 nights in NY before flying to Orlando next year. Have done loads of research but was wondering if the taxi from Newark is a fixed price or not, and the approx cost.
Might surprise the kids with booking a limo, but would like to know the comparison with a taxi.

Not sure from Newark, but from JFK its $45 to Manhattan by yellow cab. We had a limo from JFK to Manhattan which cost us approx $110, it seats 6 or 8 though.
Thanks, we would definitely be flying into Newark though. I know its $70 for a limo, just not the taxi price.

I saw in an earlier thread about this site and have just booked a sedan car from JFK cheaper than a cab.
They go from Newark as well

Definitely fixed price taxi fares when we flew into Newark, to wherever. As is usual in USA airports, just get in line and the man asks your destination & gives you the price before callng the taxi. Can't remember our charge, but it was very reasonable.

This Dec taxi from Newark to Manhattan $58 plus tips and tolls from the taxi rank outside the terminal.
8 seater limo was $179 and the an SUV back to Newark was $160 tolls and tips included. The later booked from the Hotel.
We had to go back to the airport to meet up with the kids and made this journey from Manhattan by train from Penn Station. I think it was about $15. Now that we have tried that option if I didn't have alot of luggage I would certainly do it again

In April 2007 we paid $60ish from Newark airport plus tolls & tip. I think the price slightly varies depending on where on Manhattan you are heading exactly.
Thanks Karen, that gives me a rough idea. One question down, 20 more to go lol
