OK- I'm heading over to Florida for Easter and would like to buy a new laptop.
Whillst I could search for an electronics store on the net can anybody recommend one to me?
Also is there anything I need to look out for when purchasing? For example do any US models have universal (or the kettle lead style) power supplies that would make things easier for me?
Thanks in advance

Got my laptop from bestbuy, they will load it for you and make sure it functions ok .
BestBuy are often the best for price as they include discount savings at the till. Others such as Compusa and CircuitCity have discount deals too but in involves sending away for a manufacturers rebate, which is only possible if you can provide an permanent address in the US. Check out the warranty too, it's rare to get an international warranty from most US sources. Some people on here have bought from Walmart as they can take it back to ASDA here, if it goes wrong. I found that the choice at Walmart was pretty limited.

Also, sorry to put a downer on it, but remember your duty allowance. £145 per person and they cannot be combined. If you do unfortunatley get stopped, you have to prove you DIDNT buy it in the US and bought it elsewhere by producing receipt or similar :wavey:
My husband bought one for me in Office Depot (in Texas not Fl) and brought it back wthout thinking or knowing about the duty allowance. He can be thick at times but as it was my Christmas present I will forgive him lol.

Bought ours in Best Buys on OBT beside Florida Mall. They updated all the software and change the settings to region 2. Hubbie was well pleased with his purchase

Oh, Sadly I'm well aware of that after being stopped on a journey home from New York :(
