Just booked Thialand for our summer holiday 2008. 2 wks Hilton Hua Hin B&B for 4 adults £3088 - not bad considering the cost of eating out is dirt cheap.DD will have to make do with fake A&F this year!!
It was the hoards of South American kids that finally made our minds up to give Orlando a miss during the summer. Not that they were badly behaved on the contrary it was that there was just thousands of them. ;)

Went to Thailand 3 years ago (or was it 4) we had 3 nights in Bangkok and 11 nights in Krabi - Glad we had the 3 days in Bangkok but wouldn't go there again as it was too lively for me!!

We stayed on the outskirt of Krabi, in an hotel with a private beach and eating places outside the main resort. Really liked it there, visited the main area of Krabi several times to shop and eat out.

Hope you have a brilliant time. :)

We have been trying to decide where to go this christmas. I quite like the idea of Thailand but DH thinks it wont be the sort of holiday our two children would enjoy and that we should save it for when its just the two of us travelling. Our kids are aged 14 and 7, can anyone tell me if this is the case?

Thanks

Debs

Although we haven't been to Thailand ourselves, we know quite a few who go repeatedly and absolutely love it.

Can I ask where in Thailand you are staying? I am getting so confused with all the options.

Many thanks

we,ve been twice and loved it
last time we stayed in bangkok for 10 days then got a flight to koh samui for 14 days. bangkok is great for shopping and very lively to say the least so we appreciated being in samui last 2 weeks they even have a big tesco for home comforts in samui, but people we know who have been to samui recently say we would not reconise it anymore very commercialised.
Im sure your have a great time.
