Has anyone advice about spending New Year's Eve in Las Vegas. Would it be suitable for children (the youngest will be 11, the oldest 17). Spent last New Year in London queueing to watch the 10 minute firework display in the rain, watching the drunks fall down and swear at everyone :omg: , so am really keen to do something MUCH better.

Also when can I book flights, hotels etc as websites wont let me book into the New Year.

Thanks

Hiya!
We've booked to go to Vegas for Christmas 2008
Have a look at www.dreamusa.co.uk we got a fab price for our trip!
Our flights are with Virgin, as we wanted direct flights, they aren't released until 336 days before (i think its 336 days before your return date)

I did this with a few mates for New Years 2004/05.

We had a good time overall, but it was absolutely chaotic on the 'Strip', there were 1000's of people out there. The Strip itself was closed and full of very drunk college kids so probably not the best place for an 11 year old. It was also impossible to get into any of the hotels after about 10pm unless it was the one you were staying at.

New years day was much better, most of the college crowd had gone and the place was a lot calmer. Spoke to a couple who had booked the 'Top Of the World' restaurant at the top of the Stratosphere for NYE and they said thet had a great time, good food and watched the fireworks from up there, so that could be an option, although I guess you would need to book that well in advance.

Although I love Vegas (I'll be there 4 weeks today :spin: ) I'm glad I've done it once on NYE, but I'm in no rush to do it again!

Hope that this is a little help.

Go for it I say

There is nothing stopping you staying at one of the larger hotesl and just join in there for new years itself. I have been at both the MGM and Luxor for this and it was amazing.

The Luxor had an amizing fireworks display from the tip of the Pyramid !!!!! awsome.

Yes there is the usual bad element as anywhere but this was always confined to the strip itself, ie out the hotels casinos etc and inside is dammed well policed.

Would love to do festive time there again but alas wings clipped :confused2 but never fear fly out there on Monday for a 3 nighter to curb my needs :d: :d: I just love Vegas, not just the gambling/shows etc but the whole buz and the no sleep for 3 days is fun !!!!!!
