The DS games will be ok but not the the Wii ones. Essentially anything that goes via the TV are no good due to the PAL signal.

Yep PSP is fully multi-region.

If anyone is after X-Box 360 games have a look at this to see which ones are compatible

Do a search for Wii freeloader. Its a disk that allows you to play import games on your uk wii or uk games on your us wii. works without having to mod your system.

Theres memory card issues with the jap import games but as this is a disney forum the UK and US games and systems are fine. (although you will need a relatively new tv due to ntsc standards on the systems

Of intrest are Wii's easier to get hold of in America? was thinking about getting one in May but no point if they are sold out everywhere....

There is a worldwide Wii shortage but I would think you will be safe by May (probably).

The Wii Freeloader from Datel costs about £10, sounds simple and an earlier version was said to work on the Gamecube until Nintendo put out a firmware update to disable it.

Possibly worth a go if you are buying enough US games to cover the £10 cost of the Freeloader.

the next Wii update ( live or via a game ) is expected to make the freeloader useless

Yes. I brought a controller and numchuck at Walmart and they both work fine. They were also a lot cheaper than over here. £s for $s.

All the shops near us (UK that is) seem to have them in stock and have had them in for quite a while now, it's been vary rare when I've seen an Out of Stock sign on the Wii since xmas, well apart from Argos, who don't seem to stock anything in their catalogue anymore. :nonono:

Are the controllers any cheaper over in the US? I really want to get a couple more but there's no way I'm paying £30 and then another £15 for the Nunchuck.

This is not true, the freeloader has been guaranteed by Datel to be future proof, the disk bypasses all updates on disks and just loads the game file, so even if the disc comes with a built in update it will still work, you can also update you console as normal and it wont effect the freeloader - they have also offered more reassurance by offering a replacement disc if Nintendo ever manage to block it. :thumbs-up

Lots of info on it here (sorry if links are not allowed)
