We went to Knotts Berry Farm the last time we were in CA and can honestly say it was fab. Something for everyone. There was some really big rides - don't know the names of most (sorry) but sure someone will let you know. We loved the wooden rollercoaster - Ghost Rider - I think its called and it seemed to go on for ages - but it was great.

we went in 99 and loved it,
We went a few years back and thought it was great, there's some really unusual rides and pretty scarey ones too in fact I had to close my eyes on one of the rollercoasters and I'm usually fine. I'd definitely go as it's well worth it.
Was there a month a go well worth it and pretty cheap as well, check out excellerator!!!!!
weve been knottsberry a few times, its a fun park ,some good rides, and very quiet every time weve been, hardly any queues at all.however if its thrill rides your after, youd be much better off going to six flags magic mountain, just north of LA much bigger better faster rides !!! http://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/

Magic Mountain is fantastic for thrill rides but we've always left there early as the heat gets to us in the end. Also we find it quite expensive to get in. Definitely worth the trip though.

Another thumbs up for both MM and KBF, both are great.
i was last at KBF a couple of years back in the summer and they were doing really cheap entrance after 4 or 5 pm. With the park open until midnight you got to go on everything without the heat! Ghost Rider in the dark is amazing.

Is there much here for a four year old as we don't really do rides?
Thanks
Been to Knotts berry Farm twice and we love it. Didn't do Xcellerator as I really couldn't bring myself to go on it, but Perilous Plunge is brilliant and if you're feeling hot, stand on the bridge and watch it!!!
We also enjoyed the Dragon Swing, Calico Mine Ride, Logflume and Bigfoot Rapids. Ghostrider was good but it gave me a headache both times I went on it. When we were there last time, they were building Silver Bullet which is open now.
For kids they have Camp Snoopy which is a kiddies section with little rides for them and theres also a steam train and you can ride a in a stagecoach.
Love Rio
LOL Gaz, I've been very restrained and told myself it was too early to start asking my California questions , but if you're asking yours, I'm going to start asking mine ! :pgig:

Went a couple of years ago, only allowed one day and spent most of the time in the tinies snoopy section, should have allowed more time but we loved what we did. My dd was only 5 at the time

I haven't booked yet and the prices have gone up. I don't know whether to hang on a bit now. We have to go at the beginning of July - now prob 7th so miss out on cheaper prices in June. Heard a whisper to wait unti the end of the month - but I don't know if that meant Feb or March!
I've got £3500 of tesco deals to use but I want to go PE both ways and a tailor your own hol is coming out at £8000 for the 4 of us! (without car/transfers etc)
BUT..... have just seen a tour going to Hawaii, LV, Mexico and NY for £8400 all transfers included and all inclusive in Mexico. This is economy - but could add PE outward later - wouldn't really need it on return from NY.
Anyone done this trip?
Family meeting tonight I think!!!

Went to CA Easter 1998 - KF was fantastic. There was an Easter Egg hunt for the kids - all free and loads of competitions to do. It's lovely and would be ideal for a 4 year old. Try a Mrs Knott's chicken dinner at the end of the day.The biscuits are to die for and we had do much dinner left it fed us all (5 of us) for lunch the next day too!!
We love 6Flags - especially the huge wooden roller coaster - Colossus and Superman. When we went at Easter there were virtually no queues. We went again in the summer of 2002 and it was much busier.
We loved Disneyland - it's a bit different to Florida - I loved the Mattahorn and the Indiana Jones Ride (but like the Dinosaur ride at AK). The roller coaster in California Adventure is very very good!
Have a great time!!
