I'd like to know this too. I know a twin is their single bed, but have no idea what our king size is in the US.

Hi Lynda :wavey: You don't see lots of quilt covers so I'm not sure but you could always jot down the measurements you need and just look on the packs when you get there (often the measurements are in imperial untis though not metric). You see lots of comforters in the department stores, supermarkets, bed bath & beyond etc which are thinner quilt than the UK ones and the cover tends to be stitched on iylwim.

I'm definately bringing back some bedding packs next time we go too they are so beautiful and reasonably priced too. :o:

Hi

I think that their queen sized bedding is the same as our King Sized beds over here. We too are getting some bedding when we next go over and we are going to get the queen sized - after I have double checked and measured, of course, LOL!!! just in case I am wrong!

hi
thanks for the tip of measuring the sizes-why didnt i think of that ! are comforters the same as shams as ive heard of them before? last time we were there there was a fabulous home interiors type shop in down town disney so i was hoping to pick up some from there(if it still exists) i presume you could just put the comforters over your quilt here?
thanks again for the help and by the way your villa is gorgeous.

Oh I see what you mean maybe use a plain white cover on your quilt and then the comforter/sham as a display layer on top. That's a good idea I hadn't thought of that either and my hubby was concerned that the comforters would be too thin back in the UK. The simple solutions are always the best.

You'll find cards inside the bedding packs usually I know I did when we bought some for the villa but had to convert them back into cm's from inches in my head. Other posters are right they are generally huge so our King is their queen. Just remembered I did bring back a twin Sponge Bob one for my sons room and it would have been ok on a divan bed but he has a cabin bed and there was just too much of it to tuck in. The choice is amazing though you'll have fun choosing I'm sure. :wavey:

Found this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bed

gives measurents for loads of sizes and as another poster says, UK King is US Queen.

UK single = US Twin
UK Double = US Full
UK King = UK Queen
UK Superking = US King

There is also a US Superking but unless you're wanting to drape right onto the floor we have little to measure up.

Also bear in mind that the pillow cases get larger in the US as the size of the comforter increases, so check inside the pack if it's a complete set.

You can get covers for duvets in the large department stores such as JC Pennys but many choose to use the combined duvet and cover which would need to be dry cleaned.

Choose the standard size pillow cases and you'll be fine :d:

I bring comforters back and use them in my B & B you can get different thickness ones but not in the kids ones.
They are fine to use here but remember they are designed to be used with top sheets, so you might buy them whilst you are there too as they are not as easy to get here and alot cheaper there!
