Hi,

My daughter tried a couple of years ago to use some straighteners which we had bought in Walmart. Although they worked for a short time (she was using her brother's console adapter to supposedly change the voltage) it did blow the adapter. So I don't think its a good idea. :confused2

They do have lots of choice in Walmart which are really cheap, even if you only use them whilst you are there.

Have a great time

If they are dual voltage or have a voltage switch you should be fine with a US to UK adapter plug.
If they are single voltage I wouldn't even think of buying them as it will probably just cut out.

My wife tried the cheap Walmart ones (although a decent make) when we were out there but ended up walking round with frizzy hair for two weeks as they just supplied no heat.

The voltage is different so our electrical items are very slow when used in the US and the US items are very fast when used in the UK.

I would be very weary about using US straigteners in the UK as they would become very hot very quickly and you may singe your hair.

I wouldn't risk it personally
