My DH is 6'5 and last year he and my DD8 started bodyboarding. He had to borrow a bodyboard and we ordered one on the internet but it was still too short and flimsy for him. :tounge: We wondered if anyone has ever bought one in Florida and if so, where? He is looking for a solid base at the bottom not polyestrine (spelt wrong but you'll know what i mean). We may go down to Clearwater so maybe down there might be better.

I assume we will be able to get it home ok. :spin:

I'd imagine you'd get something to suit your husband in Ron Jons. I know they do bodyboards as my sister and her family are going to have a look when they're over in May. Does your husband go in off East Strand in Portrush? My sis has a house in Bushmills and they're in the water most weekends off East Strand.

I must get her to look out for a very tall man in the water next time she's down! It's a small world, isn't it ;)

If you're having a look in Ron Jons, the shop at Festival Bay is much smaller than the one at Cocoa Beach. You could spend a whole day at Cocoa Beach and the sea there would be good enough for body boarding. If you just wanted to swim, you can wade out past where the waves are breaking and it's like being in a warm swimming pool.

If he has a look at www.ronjons.com it'd give him an idea of what's available.

Thanks I had a look at their website but unfortunately they are just the same as the boards we can get at home which are too thin, but maybe I will be able to find something better when we go.

Thanks for your reply

This site may be of help to get a better idea of what you need before you go http://www.bodyboardhq.co.uk/index1.htm

They have link to get a recommendation or just look at the Tech Info to get a clear idea of what you need.

I used to do this years ago, only had an Atunas poly board, but it was great fun. Good luck :thumbs-up
