Hi Folks  long time no post(I've turned into quite a lurker)

Anyhoos, after visiting Florida multiple times over past few years, we've decide on California for this year(along with a few others it would seem). Ive been watching for flights with BA to LA from Glasgow. In January I could get all 5 of us there for around 2,120, but couldn't book cause I had to clear it with work colleagues, and by the time I had the price had gone up by a thousand pounds.

The prices have come down a little and it would be around 2,550 now.

What are the chances these prices might come down further. I could get it alittle cheaper with American Airlines but Im not sure if they have seatback tvs...which is a must for us.

So what d'yall think.

I was watching prices from last August - they started out at just under £500 for August this year( with B.A or Virgin from Heathrow ) but like you, I wasn't in a position to book until a few weeks ago - then £680 :(, same flights now are £730, I haven't seen any dropping in price. If you don't want to go with American Airlines ( the seat back thing put me off as well ) could you book one of the B.A sale dates ? ( not sure if L.A is one of the options - the dates weren't suitable for us, so didn't pay much attention ) or could you book early for a later date to get the best price ? even if it means going next year ? :(

Just had a look at the B.A sale , flights are between £370 and £520 for dates up to the end of June, ret from Glasgow.

What month are you wanting to go?

I see the BA Sale has further reductions so you can get from Glasgow to LA for as little as £371 return. If you log in at BA.com before you book then you save an extra £10.

UK to LAX change constantly. I have paid £1000 for economy before now and £550 for Premium Economy! You can get some good cheap deals with Continental via Newark or (dare I say it because I would never use them again) US Airways.

Keep an eye on flights via Kayak or the like - they can send daily mails on current prices.

Thanks, Im looking to go on 19th June and return 11 July.

The problem Im having is whether to book now and regret it if prices drop further. It could mean saving £300 more or spending £300 more....if you understand :confused2 Its such a pest having to pay adult fare for kids over 12,,thats whats bumping the price up as were are now 4 adults and 1 child.

I do really want to go this year...I changed my mind last year and we went to Florida 3 times...its time for a change.

Plus I know if i dont book Cali soon, I'll end up booking for Florida again
lol...the pull is soooooooooooooooo strong! :tounge:
