We ended up at 'us 192 flea market' I really didn't enjoy it at all and there was no bargains to be had. I also felt that it was not very clean and tidy,,,plus one person tried to sell us live baby turtles telling us that they were fine to put in the suitcase and take home to the UK.............we declined the offer!
we did nt rate the flea market either went to the same one as joeraz

We went to the one at Sanford a good few years ago. That was one of the better ones I think.

There's a few nice flea markets towards the top end of the 192(towards the US27 end) but the one further down was really bad. The worse one we went into was on IDrive. Very run-down, very pushy and filthy dirty.
Had some great bargains in some of them. "Designer" sunglasses for a few quid, T-shirts, etc.

We went to one somewhere on the way down to Key West, it was awful really dirty, and there was something on the floor that looked like something the Grim Reaper would use!! and I asked the man what it was and he said [ in a deep south drawl!] 'that, mam is a hog slicer!'
And asked did I want to buy it!! imagine trying to get that through customs!!! :pgig: :pgig:

Around 15 years ago we visited the one on the 192, and several stalls were being raided by Customs for selling counterfeit goods. Image "Sir - do you have permission from Chanel to manufacture or sell these goods" ROFL.
Needless to say, as good Brits, we sat on an unused stall and watched it all and took piccies lol!!

We go to the one near Sanford and we always get bargains!
This is a bit of a long story so bear wth me....
I bought a Scarlett O'Hara doll at a Memorbillia (spelt wrong I know!) Convention at Brum a few years ago - she was £60 but beautiful! :omg:
They had Rhett Butler there but I said that I would buy him next time, of course next time we went he wasn't there! I looked online but he was at least £100!
Fast forward to my last trip and we went to the flea market. My DH called me into one of the alcoves and said "aren't you looking for him?" and there was Rhett for $22! Of course I snapped him up and now Rhett and Scarlett are together forever! Don't you just love a happy ending? :d: :spin: :d:

Hi
We usually have a wander around the ones on the 192 when we go, i would say they are the equivalant of a car boot / market in the UK, and thats what they are set up like.
They sell used and new goods, we have never found them to be pushy.
We usually go to buy the Magnetic bracelets they have there for $20 these are the only ones we find that work, also if you need any new luggage the prices are good up there too.
If your mum likes to wander around carboots/markets in the UK then she will probably enjoy it.
