We bought a new colour printer (Canon Pixma MP210) just after christmas, and installed the cartridges, but it's now saying (less than a month later) that the colour cartridge is low and the black one is still full - does anyone know why? Surely it can't have run out a) that unevenly and b) in that space of time? I've only printed about 20-30 photos.....
Thanks!

Did the cartridges come with the printer? If so sometimes the manufactures only provide temporary ones to get you started :thumbs-up

They did, but I didn't realise they were temporary ones, they look the same as the ones I bought separately. What about the black one though? Surely they should go down at the same level?

Not an expert but would it depend on what you are printing off?
Perhaps someone else will come along and let us both know ;) :thumbs-up

Since most people use much more black than colour ink you might find that the black was a full size cartridge and the colour just a trial size. It's common for printers to be supplied with just part filled cartridges to get you started.

I have the pixma mp170 and it gobbles the colour ink, especially when printing photos! You can get higher capacity cartriges but the ink still gets eaten up. I have now bought ink refills from ebay. It was £10 a refill(each colour) and so far i have filled my cartriges 3 times. The canon refills are expensive at around £20 for 1 cartrige. So refilling your printer costs £40 a time for the canon or £20 for refill kit from ebay for both with lots of refills!
