Has anyone got a map of New York and where I could get a decent one? Many thanks

Hi we just got back look on the web for tours there great we bought a book from WH Smith before we went and it had a carry map inside "Frommers NYC day by day" only small so you can carry it £7.99 very good we found

We like the Eyewitness travel guides by Dorling Kindersley (maybe it's the pretty pictures!) and they all have street maps in them. I don't remember needing another map in NYC.

If you want a rough idea try this one on line. I printed it out earlier - It is the route for the hop on hop off buses and I found it helpful.

Hiya, we use the maps in our books. Soon you will get used to where you are. Once you are familiar its really easy to get around.

before I went, I used Google Maps to plan out exactly where I needed to go. Not much good when you get there (unless you have an iPhone or iPod touch), but worth perusing beforehand.

like Orlando you will be inundated with maps when you get there so dont worry too much

If you a fan of a brits guide to Orlando, they do one for New York.

the one thing we didnt get and wish we had (we made sure we had a goodone for the second visit,) a Subway map.

the easiest map we had was given to us from conceirge.

I bought the AA New York Citypack which comes with a laminated map in a pocket at the back. I love maps and this one looks great and easy to follow.

i bought one over there from a newstand, about $8. It was laminated and very good.

Hi I use Hopstop to plan journeys beforehand it tells u bus or train to take how long etc plus even estimates the taxi price, for over there I have the rough guide map its waterproof and rip proof so they say ;)

It's a brilliant website and has really helped me with walking distances and planning my itinerary.

The New York map Guide by Michael Middleditch (Penguin). I got mine from Amazon. The best map of new york i have ever had!! Wouldn't leave home without it!!!
