The dates I wanted have gone  . I know I have left it late but I was waiting to get paid (poor student). I have rang up american attractions so they are going to see if there are any places left - . Kids will be so disappointed - when I looked last night there were places. Lets hope I get a phone call with good news - I have tried all the web sites I know.

Start the booking process, it will ask how many are in your party and then bring up the dates, so you will be able to see any available dates during your visit.

Have you tried ringing DC direct (there is a free number from the UK on their website). I needed an extra ticket for dates in march that were showing fully booked on the web but when I rang there was no problem in adding on the extra guest. It's worth a try! Good luck!

I'm afraid the dates you chose are Easter week. Let's hope for a cancellation.

Does the Key Largo dolphin encounter have an opening?

just keep trying, you may be lucky, we missed the dates we wanted in 2004 then the week before we left i have another look on the DC website and some had become available so we snapped them up

Thanks everyone :thumbs-up . Going to see if we can go to DC cove first - the water at key largo is too deep for my son '15' feet  so thats a no go. I have been looking for other tours but they are the same 10-15 feet. Son is only 8 and likes to be able to at least see the floor. I am going to take him swimming more - with a floatation vest and take him out of his depth just to try and get him used to it. see what happens.

Nicole
29 Jan 08, 02:26 PM
Is the latest date you can do the 3rd April as my brother may have to cancel and he has got 4 swims on the 4th April.

hev

My kids are too young to swim with the dolphins at DC so we are doing a manatee trip instead with Fun2Dive (http://www.fun2dive.com/manatee.htm) - its a private trip - just us, and cheaper than DC too.

Hi Hal, thanks for that - it looks good :) . Have you booked it already? It says they dont pick up, do you know whether it is easy to find?

Im quite shocked that they sell out. Glad I was lucky enough to be able to book them few months in advance.

Hope you find something soon. (How about an AirBoat ride looking for gators?)

hev
29 Jan 08, 04:48 PM
Its really what the kids want (I would try anything - ooohhh aayyy) and its the dolphins they want to swim with, but if we cant get tickets for DC I will have to look else where. DC said to keep ringing as they get cancellations so thats what I will do. Cant wait! Just order myw tickets and dollars/travellers cheques - its getting closer :)

You could always do what we did - let them snorkle with the sharks in TL! At the time we couldn't afford to do DC and hyped up the shark lagoon. They loved it. They did do a swim in the Algarve in the end two years ago. (I know it wasn't a patch on DC but they were both thrilled).

Its a long way to go you would have to overnight one or two days.

What about doing the tour "Dolphins in dept" at Epcot? You do not get to swim with dolphins, but as i've seen it's also a fantastic experience! I think it costs around 150$

Just spoke to Daughter who is working gap year at Seaworld. She's been across to DC to speak to another Gapper. Onaverage they get 25 cancellations for dates within the next 6 weeks. You need to phone DC at 8.00 EST each day to get the latest cancelled dates to be at the front of the queue. Apparently soem Brits send pleading emails to DC asking them to put them on a canx list as well. Can't be a bad thing to try. daughter will check again when she goes in this afternoon.

Sorry - I missed your reply.

Yes I have booked it. Here's a trip report (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=119932&highlight=fun2dive) (one of several on this company) which covers how easy it was to find. :wavey:

8.00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Good Luck and say hello to my daughter when you see her in Seaworld. She works in the Shamu Stadium in various guises (last week got to help in the show) and loves the Brits saying hello to her.

Not been there, but have you tried Marineland near St Augustine? www.marineland.net/ Think I've read that other Dibbers have though. They do dolphin swims, and it's about 2 hours drive North from Orlando.
Hope you do get one booked somewhere - it's great.

Hey Marineland looks really good and so are the prices! They do shallow swims as well, thanks for the link. :)
