We're off in a few months for a couple of weeks with our friends and their daughter who is our goddaughter. She will be 14 months when we travel so still quite small. I have gone to Disney with children of this age once before and actually founnd them to be really easy although we were staying in a villa that time, this time we'll be using our points at Saratoga Springs.

I have tried to be really flexible with the itinerary and was thinking parks in the morning as the baby will wake us up early, then rests in the afternoon - the boys are planning to play golf a lot. Then we should all be raring to go again in the evenings for dinner and fireworks. Our friends have said that they only wish to eat out every other night, however given I'm on holiday so won't want to cook and we aren't hiring a car so won't be able to get to the supermarket I'm not so keen on eating in the apartment every other night so have made more ADRs than that - we can always cancel them if we don't want them.

Anyway I would really appreciate your advice on how it looks, any suggestions etc especially if you have travelled with a very young child yourself. I am a seasoned Disney visitor, my husband has only been once before last year and our friends have never been so for their sakes we want to get lots done although we are planning on just doing Disney this trip so no Seaworld or Universal.

Thanks for reading!!

I haven't particularly looked at your itinerary as it will only make me sad, ubt a few comments on eating in the apartment and travelling with kids.

We stayed in a 1 bed on our last trip, and did find that we were happy to eat in the apartment more than I had originally expected. You could get a taxi to Goodings (or even walk from SSR), or they will sell a limited amount of food in the shop onsite. (they sell more then usual in the DVC resorts) We also got take-away from the counter service place at Wilderness Lodge and took it back to the room. I was surprised at how often we opted to eat in the room as it's not something we normally do, but we really felt 'homey' with the DVC villas and were more keen than normal to just chill out.
I didn't cook, we had things that just needed warming up in the oven.

We had bagels and donuts for breakfast nearly every morning. In fact, I really liked having the kitchen and I didn't think I would use it at all.

Life with the toddler should be fairly easy, we took Molly at 14 months and it was one of our easier trips with her, she just took it all in her stride and didn't yet have an opinion! My big recommendation is a comfy stroller so the baby can nap whenever and whereever without needing to be back in the room.

Thanks Bev!! My god daughter is also called Molly!!

I went away with some girlfriends in September and used my points for a studio and we had breakfast there every morning so I'm not too worried about having breakfast in the apartment, plus this time we will be in a 2 bed so lovely big kitchen to work in.

You've reassured me about the evenings though so thank you, I forgot that being at Saratoga we would be close to Goodings so that is a great tip. We'll just have to see how it goes! Can't wait just hope our friends and little Molly enjoy it!!
