Hiya, we always stay at The Westin in Times Square, fantastic location and a really lovely plush hotel with good facilities but the best bit being its location. You can walk to many attractions on foot.

I would stay for around 4 - 5 days so you can have a good look around and dont feel rushed. One of my kidlets is 10 and one 12 and they love it in NYC.

We are thinking of doing 3 or 4 nights and then on to Orlando.

If you're looking for something bigger than a standard hotel room, then have a look at www.affinia.com We're staying at the Affinia Dumont on East 34th Street in March and our 1 bedroom suite has two rooms, one with the bed(s) in, and the other has a sofa bed/desk/tv etc There is also a full size kitchen.

We are in the process of trying to organize a trip to New York prior to going to Florida in October and I have to say the accommodation for a family of 4 is extortionate :erm: Think we'll be bedding down at the YMCA

Try radiocity appartments for accom fairly cheap and the best location just off time square. was there this time last year and it was a great place to stay and we got a great price. I would say you wouldn't want to stay in nyc for longer then a week. We always do 7 days and by the last day you kind of want to get away from the hustle and bustle x

www.cosmohotel.com comes highly recommended on another forum (I havent stayed there yet). It is a budget hotel but has been refurbished, nice and clean etc. Its in the financial district, walking distance to Ground Zero etc. We are hoping to stay here, think its about £120 a night in October.

We always stay at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, there are two king beds in the rooms. I too would only stay a few days much as I love NYC, 4 or 5 days is plenty.

We are flying in to New York for the Easter holidays in April. We are flying in on the Saturday and leaving for Orlando on the Monday morning. Returning we are flying back to New York on the Friday, and flying on to London on the Saturday night.

Based on recommendations we are staying in Jersey City, New Jersey, which is opposite Manhattan over the Hudson river. We chose the Marriott Courtyard (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g46531-d224096-Reviews-Courtyard_Jersey_City_Newport-Jersey_City_New_Jersey.html), where we got a King Suite (with sofabed) for $290 per night +taxes = $330 per night. It is next to the Newport/Pavonnia Path stat (http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/path/html/map.html)ion, which is 2 stops from World Trade Center, and offers easy access the other way into MidTown (Greenwich Village, 5th Avenue etc. Empire State Building is 5 stops (20 mins) away at the end of the line). Trains run through the night.

Its also basically opposite the Newport Mall which has lower taxes than NYC for shopping  , and one stop from Hoboken if we fancy a trek out to the outlet mall.

We are flying in to JFK so an airport transfer is more expensive than it would be for a Manhattan Hotel, but anyone fling into Newark (EWR) can just get the PATH to the hotel from the airport, with only one change.
