Hi all, my neice has decided to get married in Vegas in June 08 (means I have 2 visits in 3 months)
I've visited Vegas quite a few times but have never been involved in a wedding out there and wondered if anyone has first hand knowledge of:
Chapels (not hotel ones)
Hairdressers/makeup
Flowers
Wedding breakfasts
etc etc.
Any suggestions/web links would be very much appreciated.

My cousin got married out in Vegas last November. She booked hers through the luxor. If i ever manage to catch her on MSN i'll ask her for details of who she used. (you'll probably get more replies before i get hold of her!!)

Thanks Kes, the bride and groom will be staying at the Luxor - the rest of us will be at the Excalibur. I think my niece would like a wedding in one of the chapels (no Elvis though ;) )
It would be great to get some ideas of what other people have done, first hand is always better.
If you can get some info that would be great, I can pass it on to her, Cheers. :)

One of my friends is getting married in Vegas in May. She's booked a wedding package at a chapel in Vegas online and included in the price is return transfer in a limo to and from the chapel, a wedding bouquet, photos and they have a website that friends and family back home can log onto and watch the wedding live via webcam. I'm meeting up with her next weekend so i'll ask her for the web address for your niece.

Thanks, that was helpful, when you say you didn't book anything until you got to Vegas, how long did it take to plan when you arrived? Also did you have any difficulty having the date/time you want.
Finally (well for now ;) ) I've read that you don't have to spend any time in Vegas before getting married just have to get the licence from the court house, is this true?
Thanks for spending the time answering my questions, my poor niece is working so I said I'd try and find out some details.
Thanks all :)

Brilliant - thanks Bev, I'll forward it to my neice. All she has to do is pick one of the many chapels in LV.
Cheers :)

Hi,
We got married in the Little White Chapel 15 years ago. We never booked anything before we went !
As i recall we just went into the Chapel and it was a case of " what time do you want to come in " ( a bit like going to the hairdressers really !!! ) we chose to have our wedding at 11 pm so the strip would be all lit up.
We had to go to Clark County Court for our Licence which only took a couple of minutes.
The Stretch Limo and driver was included in the cost of the wedding. The driver picked us up from our hotel ( Circus Circus ) and first took us to the Court House and then on to the Chapel.
During the Wedding the " witness " videoed the ceremony for us with our own camera, which was good as we had no guests to do it for us !
When we came out of the Chapel 2 coachloads of Japanese Tourists had pulled up outside they seemed delighted when we emerged and the flashing cameras were unbelievable we felt like movie stars !!! :cool2:
The driver then took us for a drive along the Strip and then back to our Hotel.
We had our " reception " in the Steak House at the Hotel !! :pgig:
Hope all goes well. Sue x :wavey:

Thanks Sue, I'm as excited (if not more) than the bride and groom! I've phoned around to get the best deal for them, they've decided to go to Hawaii for week 2 so they've booked all the flights and hotels so it's just the 'important' part to sort out.
I don't think they'll have the 'nerve' to go and not prebook the Chapel, but there's such a huge choice - they definately don't want to use the 'drive through' though!!

Thanks for the reply, I think she's giving me a list of possible venues and I'll be taking pictures of them when we go in March - It's going to be lots of fun!!
Thanks again. :)

We got married in Vegas in 2004. At the time you had to get the licence 24 hours in advance; queue at the County Court was huge fun as there was such a mix of people, but it was run like a machine and very quick.
We went for a pre-booked package from the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. Ours was pretty straight-forward, but you could have Elvis, or Star Trek or King Arthur... We went for a limo to the chapel and a helicopter to the Grand Canyon.
As for hairdressing, my wife had hers done in the beauty parlour of the hotel, Luxor, and it was really nice.
We didn't have any formal wedding meals as there were just the two of us and my step-daughter, but we did have a cracking dinner at Fusia in the Luxor. My wedding breakfast was Krispy Kreme doughnuts, but I was on my own at that point and could eat what I liked.

Fab - thanks David I love the sound of the Krispy Kreme and I know just where to get them, between the Excalibur and Luxor!!
There is such a huge choice of wedding types but my niece has a rough idea of what she wants and I do think she fancies the idea of the trip to the Grand Canyon.
I'll pass on her comments.
Cheers. :)

Boy are you in for fun :-)
Like you i I love Vegas and make a regular visit there every year, 5 years ago my younger brother and his girlfriend tagged along and yip got married.
It was the Elvis one, or one of them anyway and what a laugh, sheer tack but in the best possible taste !!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
It was such a laugh and got picked up from The Luxor by a huge pink Limo and as we were about 20 minutes early for some reason we cruised drinking the 9 bottle of champ[agne in the bar in the back of the limo and were well drunk !!!! :-)
But at the Elvis chapel I just about lost it, it was so staged and put on I had to control my laughing but great fun.
What surprised me was that all these lavish shows that they put on for weddings are just that ?????? ie after all that singing, preaching dancing etc a registrar stops you on the way out , asks which couple it was getting married ????????????? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then rattles off the legal stuff double quick time, and than you are married, even the signing of thier register is conducted double quick time.

davie sounds like a fun time was had by all - I'll probably be the giggly one at the back, but in all fairness my neice is 'game for a laugh' so she'll probably laugh all the way through herself.
We're all really excited!!

Heather i'm still trying to get hold of my cousin. I have sent her an email asking for details from her but as yet have heard nothing back. I do know she is always busy with work and it can take a while for her to reply. (if we are lucky she might reply before your nieces wedding!!!)

Kes, apart from booking the hotels and flights she hasn't booked anything yet so no panic - She'll be happy for any info/advice people have before finaly making a decision.
As long as we have a couple of stretch limo's I'll be happy. :)
