Thinking of going away with friends for a weekend to Newcastle.

Want a central location.

Anyone recommend a hotel?

Thanks Sue

Where do you want to be close to?
Newcastle City Center/Metro Center/Airport etc.

If you want somewhere that is reasonably priced and in the centre you could try jury's inn which is just along from the Central Station. There is also the County Thistle which is across the road from the Central Station. If you want something a bit better there is the Copthorne and Mal Maison which are on the Quayside.

Where about's do you want to be?

The Jury's Inn is very nice, near the Arena and Train Station. The HI Express is also in this area.

On the Quayside nearish the pubs, there is a Quayside Premier Travel Inn, or more upmarket The Copthorne.
The Vermont get's very good reviews

Closest to the Town Centre/Shops would be the City Centre Premier Travel Inn - it's in a bit of a funny place, but it's a short walk to Northumberland Street and Eldon Square.

When my sister had her hen night she came up from Manchester with all her mates and she stopped in the Malmaison which was beautiful and its in a prime location for the sights and of course the pubs :spin:

My hubby works in and around Newcastle and knows alot of people who had stopped there and it came highly recommended.
It was £50 a night/room so its not that expensive.

Heres web page:-

Looks very nice but cheapest room on web-site for weekend is £300. Do you know where I can get it at £50 a night?

I have to say, I have always thought it was supposed to be a very expensive hotel.

I would go for The Premier Inn which is on the key side and you should get a decent rate.

Was going to recommend the Hilton Fab hotel but its a bit more than £50 unless you can get a deal as they sometimes send e-mails out to me with offers.

Just rang my sister and asked her how she paid £50,

Sorry  She paid £50 each two in a room and no breakfast it was a deal she found while she search hotels in Newcastle.

So it was £100 / night for a double room with no breakfast
