Has anyone bought other peoples unused Disney tickets at the booths? Was everything ok ?

Also, has anyone sold tickets at the booths? Was it a fair price?

Cheers.

I've never done this and I don't really understand how they work either as you're fingerprinted these days so I'd love to hear from some-one who has done it.

We sold ours. Can't remember how much for but we were leaving and there was only a day or 2 left on them!

We were a party of 11 checking out at Downtown Disney in December. A shady man (!!) in a car approached us and offered to buy any tickets we had. It was all on trust, we told him what days we had left on the cards. We queried the fingerprint thing, and he said that was no problem.

We had 1 day left on Universal tickets valid for 4 days and he paid us US$5 each. Not a fortune, but better in our pocket for our last afternoon of spending. Said he worked out of the petrol station on Disney property and encouraged us to buy from him for our next visit.

Can't say I would buy from them though.

We've bought Disney tickets from various booths along the 192, as we only do 1 or 2 days at Disney it works out cheaper!! we've never had any problems using them!! This year I'm thinking of buying a 7 or 10 day pass (not sure which 1) from Disney and getting it upgraded to nonexpiry at the park, I figured it should last us a good 5 or 6 holidays?? I think we paid $55 each for a 2 day pass last time! :wavey:

You have no way of knowing that tickets are genuine or unexpired, surely you are taking a gamble buying from these places?

From the official Disney website: -

Q: Are tickets transferable? Can I give them to someone else to use the remaining days?

A: Please note that all Multi-Day Theme Park tickets are nontransferable and must be used by the same person. The person that uses the ticket for the very first time must use the ticket for its entirety. Any tickets that are transferred are in violation of this restriction and are invalid for admission.

I don't understand how you could use someone elses ticket now they have the finger scanning machines at the gates? :confused2
I know a lot of people say these machines are rubbish and dont work, but when we went with friends in 2006 we somehow managed to get all of our tickets mixed up and we weren't allowed into the park until the machines showed we all had the right one!
There is no way of knowing what your buying so i personally wouldn't chance it!

The ''finger print'' machines measure the distance of some points between your fingers - it is not an actual finger print. By moving your pinkies about you may be able to 'adjust '' the machine

I have heard that they switch the finger scanners off and on depending on whether it's busy or not. This would explain how some families/groups swap tickets and get away with it, and some have to get the right ticket to get in.

I use the biometric system for clocking in at work and there is no way that you can move your fingers about to adjust it. I would sell a ticket to the booth but don't think I would take the risk of buying them.

At $55 for a 2 day pass it has to be tempting.... That compares with about $140 if purchased direct from Disney. Not sure how they do it, but if they are selling out of an office then they must be confident as a loudly complaining customer would be bad for business.

Some of them advertise cheap tickets but you have to do the timeshare tour first.

You cannot do this now with the new fingerprinting at the gate, my missus and I mixed ours up, and were being refused entry, once we swapped them over it was okay.

If you are caught, your tickets will be confiscated. Do you honestly think that the shady characters at the booths will then reimburse you for your confiscated tickets? They are doing something illegal in the state of Florida. If they will cheat Disney, they will cheat you. You have no recourse if they cheat you.
