Hi all
I've been reading posts for a little while. We, that is my husband and 3 teenagers, are off to Orlando for Easter for the first time. We sat down and discussed where the kids wanted to go and they decided they didn't want to do Disney so we've bought a flex ticket including Aquatica and tickets for Kennedy Space Centre. That was the easy bit! We now have to come up with an itinerary and I'm also worried that by not buying any Disney tickets we're going to miss out on some great evening entertainment. From reading other posts I guess its going to be extremely busy over Easter. Should we allow 2 days in each of the parks we will be visiting? Can anyone help with sorting out an itinerary? The kids all want to go shopping and I thought maybe we should visit St Petes and go on an airboat ride. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks.

 Hello and welcome!
We are also going at Easter with our teenagers and an extra one (DD's boyfriend). I had intended to miss out the Disney parks this time but they insisted we did them all so our itinerary is very busy. If you don't want to do all the Disney parks then you could look at doing the Pirate & Princess party one night for an evening of fun in the Magic Kingdom. It's a seperately ticketed event.
Feel free to borrow ideas form our plan, posted on the itineraries forum, if it suits you. We are trying to avoid the main parks over the Easter weekend when it will be at the most crowded.
As far as evening entertainment goes, there's plenty to do. The parks will be open late. Universal has Mardi Gras on Saturday evenings, well worth a visit, there's a parade and live bands. Have a look and see if there are any bands your kids like playing locally, we usually enjoy a gig or 2 when we're in Orlando.
Any questions, just ask, we're a friendly bunch here. :D
just do everything you want to do , when you get there go into somewhere like ponderosa and grab loads of park guides if you change your minds and want to do one at a disney park just pay the day price......its well worth doing epcot from lunchtime onwards for the fireworks.....fantastic ...and anyway dont worry you,ll go again so you can do them next time you go!lol
oh sorry welcome to the madness of disney addiction its great!!!
I looked on here 4 years ago and found everything i needed to know for my first trip , everyone on here is really helpful just throw any question in and guaranteed someone will have an answer for you.
welcome and happy dibbing

Hi and welcome
I am sure you will all have a fantastic time in Orlando
But how can you NOT do Disney on your first ever visit- I am sure the teenagers would love it. My 17 and 14yr olds would never want to miss it although they do love the more thrilling rides of BG and IOA - theres still plenty for them at WDW.
My first ever time (many years ago) we used the touring plans from the unofficial guide. But if you don't want that kind of structure - get to the parks before opening and head for the ones you MUST do straight away.

Welcome, my older kids arent fussed on disney, although my daughter and I love it, I think if they dont want to do it dont buy the tickets then see when you get there if they just want to do a day or two and pay at the gate. There is plenty to do without disney if you want to. Your teens will love ioa and busch, :thumbs-up Debbie

Thanks for the welcome and all the replies so far. I wish I had found this site before I booked. Rather than book a package I would have organised my own flights, car hire, villa etc.
Don't worry about it, we had our first two trips which were package holidays before I found the dibb. They were still fantastic holidays. The dibb has helped with with things I would never have know about for our future holidays though.
