View Full Version : Dinner Shows?
I would quite like to go to one of those Orlando dinner shows, but I have two concerns:
- We are only there for 6 full days, and might not get back from the parks until late - is it too much to squeeze in for your 1st time in Orlando? :confused2
- I do not eat meat (just fish) and all the menus for the dinner shows I have seen are meat - except Pirates which has a shellfish option, I think, but i do not eat that either! (very fussy)
Do any of these dinner shows have vegetarian options?
I would love to see one of the horse shows!
After 14 years of visits totalling 42 weeks we still have not had time to visit offsite dinner show, bought tickets for Arabian Knights and sold them on Ebay.
We are either too tired or stay in parks, done a couple onsite(Hoop and Mickeys BBQ) which were both good.
Last Aug there for 25 nights with the intention of doing Dixie Stampede but again had more important things to do, yoo late now its closed:(

we did the pirates dinner adventure but the food was terrible, the show itself was ok.
i don't think i would bother with one again, it is a bit of a tie.

Done the main ones: Pirates, Arabian Nights and Medieval Times.
The food at all was... okay. Food at Medieval Times being marginally better than the rest.
As for the overall experience:
In 3rd place: Pirates Dinner Adventure: It was okay, but having done it I don't think i'd bother again.
In 2nd place: Arabian Nights was also okay. Had VIP tickets so we got to pet the horses before the main event started and the kids had photos taken sitting on the one. The lead female character had the whiniest voice I've ever heard. You could see people cringing every time she spoke. Again, I'd not bother doing this one again
In 1st Place: Medieval Times. Slightly better food (but if you want outstanding food go somewhere else). The event itself was outstanding (won't spoil it) and YES I'd certainly consider doing this one again (and possibly even again after that).
So Medieval Times gets my vote. If I remember correctly, they all have veggie options on their menus.
Medieval Times does look like a lot of fun. :)
I will think about it a bit more ... but very tempted!
Thanks for the replies and helpful reviews!

I was invited to do the Pirates one (tomorrow), I'm actually looking forward to it.
We did the pirates one a couple of years ago and it was terrible. Rubbish food, you missed the show trying to eat in the dark!
We did the one in Majorca & it was way way better.

We went to the Dixie Stampede one and were asked to join in the show and won medals etc. A good night and the food was good. Lovely waiting staff very friendly. We're going back thursday for 10 days and aim to go to Al Capones. They have 1/2 price tickets on their website at the moment. $23.99 per adult for food, drink and entertainment is a good price in my book.

We love Medieval Times and have been each time we're in Orlando - DS9 would go more than once on each visit if we'd let him. :confused2 I think if you're only there for 6 days you probably won't have time to fit it in though unless you were planning on only doing a park for 1/2 a day.

As above got to agree with the pirates dinner show! food and entertainment was not very good. However this is the opionion of 2 adults might be better if you have kids as there was alot of audiance partiipicating ( shout for your team ect) also get to wear fetching headbands ( crepe paper style paper things) around your head colour depending on your team. Not really our thing.
Arabian nights we had VIP tickets for and enjoyed this loved the horse show and food was okay.
Our favourite was the Dixie one ( Dolly Parton) again had VIP tickets great show & great food,,,,shame it has closed as would have loved to go again.
My only real grumble with all three show was that at the end the cast came around with a 'plate' for each party to tip ....... There is a piece of paper with this stating what you must tip depending on size of party/ adult/ child. I do tip but perfer to tip what I want to tip. Although this was not a problem as there was only two of us. Families around us were abit 'shocked' at the amount they were expected to tip as after all they had paid the ticket price. So it is worth taking note of this.
After reading some of the reviews I quite fancy medival times but don't think we have time this trip to visit :(

If that had have been me I would have done exactly what I did in Orlando Ale House, The waiter wrote on the bill "15%+ tip is expected". I wrote on the bill "if you had not asked I would have left 20%, heres 10%."
If I am told then I only leave a minimal tip.

Luckily I am not one that gets embarrassed, I would just turn my back on them and walk away.
At least I do tip well (if not asked) my Uncle wont tip a cent anywhere, he just doesn't understand the US system of tipping, just says if they don't earn enough look for work elsewhere. I can't get it thru to him service is not included in what you pay.
We've done both Pirates and Medieval Times but wouldn't do it again. We've also done the Outta Control Magic Show which serves pizza and Sleuths Murder Mystery although I'm not sure if they do a veggie option. We enjoyed these two so much we're doing them again this time.
