Hi Guys,
I found this website today and must say it's fantastic! It's nice to read advice, ideas and itinearies but now I feel even more confused, lol!! We are heading to Orlando on 20th Sept 2008 for 2 weeks there are 4 of us and we are going with another family of 4. (The kids will be 10,9,7,6) We have never been to WDW in Orlando, my family have been to Paris WDW 5 times over the last 10 years. :tounge:
So basically I have read up on tips and asked friends for their advice and I have come up with an Itineary so would like some feedback on it. The friends we are going with have left it in my organised hands (AAAH) to sort most things out eg; flights, villa, tickets, car etc... So I obviously have a lot of people to please.
The one thing we all wanted to do was Discovery Cove, and it is my friends little boy's birthday when we are out there so have arranged for it on this day, I brought the ultimate tickets which cover Seaworld, Aquatica and Busch gardens for the 2 weeks. I have not yet brought any other tickets but I was going to purchase Universal 2 day 2 park and Disney Ultimate for 14 days (Best price on attraction tickets direct that I have found).
Right so here goes;

Sat 20th;
Arrive, unpack, swim in villa pool, food shop, drive around etc

Sun 21st;
Epcot

Mon 22nd;
Busch Gardens

Tues 23rd;
Water park, shopping

Wed 24th;
Universal/IOA

Thurs 25th;
Discovery Cove

Fri 26th;
Aquatica

Sat 27th;
Clearwater/St Petes beach

Sun 28th;
Magic Kingdom

Mon 29th;
Seaworld

Tues 30th;
MGM Studios

Wed 1st;
Animal Kingdom, Water park/shopping

Thurs/Fri;
Kept free for 2nd visits to favourites!

Sat 4th;
Check in @ Downtown
Gatorland???
Flight home 17.50 :cry: :cry: :cry:

My son also wants to do an airboat trip at Boggy creek so we'll squeeze that in somewhere!
I have been unable to find out about any late nite parades, shows within the parks to date so if anyone knows of any that'll be great!
Also any recommendations for any nice reasonably priced restaurants as well please, we wanna do Rainforest and also Chef Mickey which I will prebook when i reach my 180 days!
Thank you, I'll appreciate any feedback positive or negative and your helpful tips and hints. I really want to make this a holiday of a lifetime for my family and friends. xxxx

Hi and welcome to the Dibb. Your itinerary looks great but you might want to add a rest day in at some stage. The big thing is not to try and cram everything in all at once. We went in 2006 and didnt do any night time shows and are going back in June and going to do the Parades and night shows this time. The two younger children will get tired very quickly so pace yourself and enjoy every minute. Maybe dont do everything this time and plan to go back in a couple of years and do something you can miss this time.

Welcome to the dibb, i admire you being so organised, dont forget there will be some crowds, heat and you may want to rest with the kids and take a couple of chill days by the pool. Looks good though, have fun :thumbs-up Debbie

Hiya :wave:

The park hours for September are not out yet, they are published 6 months before so Sept will be out in March & Oct in April.

Your itinery looks very full on, you might want to shuffle a park to your last Thurs keeping only the Friday free to return to your fave but this should realease a day mid-trip to relax. You will find the kids will be begging to splash around in the pool villa & the adults will certainly want to sit down for more than 5 mins!

Where about's is your villa? The location will help with eating recommendations although with such a busy itinery I suspect alot of your evenings will be spent around the villa bbq-ing & soaking aching feet!

:grin:

Hello and welcome :wavey: I would need at least 2 pool/rest days in that lot, but if you don't think you'll get back soon just go for it and sleep on the plane!!!

Yeh it is pretty full on but we are all prepared to maybe miss a day or two to chill and I'm sure the Itineary will change about a million times b4 we go. The days with the water parks will probably be scrapped and the day out at beach is for chilling.
Our Villa is in Remington, Kissimmee. We would like to eat at the villa as much as poss to save money but would obviously like to eat out as well.
Thanx 4 all your feedback. x

Hi Lynne,

How long u going for? I really love it there and have been tempted to book again for this spring but my hubby will kill me, lol! More money to spend on clothes in Florida that's all I keep thinking!
Have u been to DLP b4? If you've got young children I would recommend booking 'Cafe Mickey' in Disney village as the characters come out so you can get most of the autographs there, saves time in the park. My favourite ride is in the studios, rock n rollercoster but I wouldn't waste time on the armageddon simulator it was horrendous! Anything else you want to know I will try and help you. x

well, I'm going in September for three days with my mates, it's a hen weekend. I do feel really guilty about it cause i know Bailey would love it. I'm telling him I'm going to paris but not mentioning Disney. I've not been before so really looking forward to it!

Ahh the memories!

I had my hen weekend at DLRP Sept 7-10 in 2005. My friend told both her kids she was going to Paris but they didnt believe a word of it!

So long as your prepared to be flexible once your there then that's fine. I would draw up an itinery of 'Must Do's', spreading them out over the two weeks and then fill in the gaps with 'want to's' this way you would ensure everything you must do isn't missed because your worn out and it's the secondary stuff that may be missed or moved.

Some suggestions:

1 - I would try to avoid Magic Kingdom on a Sunday. What about doing AK or Sea World instead?
2 - On 1st Oct you choose AK and a water park, however i doubt it will be possible. Disney water parks will probably close as early as 6pm (at least it will happen in late August) so I would stick to AK and do some shopping after this park.

Your itinerary looks busy but if you think you can do it go for it! ;)

How old is he? My friends kids where 11 & 12, they knew there was a Disneyland near Paris and that I am a Disney nut so it wasnt hard for them to put 2 + 2 together!
