I have noticed that quite a few Dibbers either own or have stayed in villas at Southern Dunes. We will be staying there at Easter and I wondered if there were any recommendations of places nearby to eat? It would also be good if there was somewhere near by we could walk to so DH could have a drink!

Manny's Chop House is a must ! :D
Manny's chop house!!!!! the best place to eat near Southern Dunes, just turn left at the exit, it's about 5 minutes up the road on your right!! gorgeous food, really good price! as for somewhere within walking distance, the club house serves food, but closes at 5pm, apart from that, theres just mcdonalds, pizza, ect opposite the entrance, still a good 15 minute walk, depending which part of Southern dunes your staying in!! My advice would be, pick up some beer and a takeout from Walmart deli counter (right at the entrance to southern dunes) and have a relaxing evening by the pool!!:wavey:
Hi, across the traffic lights from Southern Dunes there is a Checkers (http://www.checkers.com/index.html)drive through, All Star Grill (http://www.allstargrill.com/menu.html), Burger King, Taco Bell, Dominos Pizza, Kfc, Blimpie Subs, Quiznos. On the way down to SD from the I4 junction there is Bob Evans, Perkins, Waffle House, Cracker Barrell.

Southern Dunes is relatively far away from the Parks but it has the huge advantage of being within walking distance (literally, because I have walked it and I have a bad leg!) of a Walmart. It is also a lovely area. The only downside is that it is a long way from the Parks.
Your husband can get a drink in the Clubhouse at Southern Dunes.
The All star grill across the I-27 is great for a drink and food. Very welcoming place with a pool table and electronic darts.
Southern Dunes is a great location. We are there in April and can't wait to go back!

We stayed at Southern Dunes last September and would highly recommend Manny's Chop House.
Food was BIG, and tasted really good. Prices were very reasonable and the service was very good. There was plenty of choice, but I would advise going early evening though because it is very popular with the locals and you might have to wait for a table.
We went about 5.00pm and got shown to a table straight away. When we left at about 7.00pm the place was packed with people waiting both inside and out.
Go with a very empty stomach ;)

:tounge: Had thought about Mannys after reading reports here before, but after looking at the menu it's a definite now.
Thanks for posting their website.
Cheers
