We have free DDP this August, although we have eaten at WDW before, it has only really been Character meals or foodcourts. We have spent weeks going through the boards and our guide books and have narrowed our choice down to the following. We are booking mostly dinners because that way we don't have to stick to a rigid itinerary for the daytime (we were planning to just go with the flow this time). Any comments will be gratefully accepted!

Character Meals:

Chef Mickeys CR – Breakfast/Dinner?
Liberty Tree Tavern, MK – Dinner
O’Hanas, Polynesian – Breakfast
Donalds Breakfastosaurus, AK – Breakfast
Crystal Palace MK – Dinner

Other TS Meals

Boma AKL – Breakfast
O’Hana Polynesian – Dinner
Le Cellier EPCOT – Dinner
Concourse Steak House Contempory – Dinner
Mama Melrose MGM – Lunch
Planet Hollywood DTD – Dinner
Rainforest Cafι – Dinner? (DDP?)
Tonys Town Square MK – Lunch
Wolfgang Pucks Grand Cafe DTD - Dinner
Hollywood & Vine, MGM – Fantasmic

If you think I have left any out please let me know, also, is the Concourse "posh" we only normally wear shorts/t-shirts?

It's looking fine to me, you didn't say what your party make up is?
Where are you staying? only asking as you are doing Ohana' twice - but then the menus for brekkie and dinner are very different.

The Concourse Steak House is not a signature restaurant so you don't have to go posh lol - the only thing is: I'm pretty sure it's having a name change and a refurb right now - think it's going to be called The Wave??
Finally - are you sure about Mama Melrose? Gets very mixed reviews and if you really want Italian, then the new one at Epcot - Tutto Italia is getting good reviews and is also only one 1 x TS meal.

Your character meal list is looking good.:thumbs-up Are you aware that Donalds Breakfastosaurus is no more? They have opened a new character meal at Tusker House in AK called Donalds Safari Breakfast so you will need to ask for this one instead on the phone.:)

You have some good choices on your normal dining list. There are a few that don't get very good reviews so would like to make you aware of that. However i do feel strongly that you should be able to make up your own mind on these places as what one person loves another will hate.
Planet Hollywood, Mama Melrose and Tonys Town Square all get pretty poor reviews but you may have previously dined here and loved them. We haven't done any of them so i can't give you any personal experience.

The Rainforest Cafe isn't on the DDP.

Everything else is looking good from here.:thumbs-up

Just edited to add, I think Sues advice about the new Italian in Epcot is great. I had no idea it was only 1TS, thats a bargain considering the reviews its getting.

Thanks for that, just what I wanted to hear, don't want to end up not enjoying a meal, will have another look at some reviews. We are me, DH and DS 12. I know I have got O'hanas twice but never been before so thought we could try breakfast and dinner.

I like your choices and can confirm that the Concourse Steakhouse will be closing 10th May and a new restaurant called the Wave will hopefully be opening mid August at the CR in a different location.

We've eaten at most of your choices but didn't like Mama Melrose at all.

Will the menu be the same as the Concourse?

We wanted to eat at MGM and are already doing H&V, can you suggest a nicer one?

You have the Brown Derby at Disneys Hollywood Studios but that will be 2 x TS.

To be honest this park is not famed for its great dining choices. The sci-fi has the novel factor and although the food is not supposed to be out of this world, you would dine there for the experience of the restaurant and eating in a car.:)

Not sure tbh - Caron seems to be the one in the know. The Wave if it is not scheduled to open until August may be one to miss?? What if it hasn't opened? When you ring to book your ADR's I'm sure they would say so.

Perhaps MM will be fine for you, some people seem to have enjoyed it - MGM/Hollywood Studios doesn't have a huge choice really.
Brown Derby is a Signature restaurant (x2 TS meals)
I like the Sci -Fi Diner there, but again that can be hit and miss, it's more of an experience than great food tbh.

Ok, no problem, I can rearrange the ADR for Dinner somewhere else. Pity about the Concourse, I fancied the menu, nevermind, off to look again.

We enjoyed Sci Fi & the food was ok - the server was really funny, but it was really cold inside - could have done with a cardy!

What about prime time diner for steak meal for dinner, I really enjoyed mine and its great fun too. I also loved sci fi diner, I had the ribs which were yummy and our server was fab with DD.
