I am planning our first trip to Disney in June/July and want to take children (ages 10 and 7) for a character dining meal. There are so many things to think of I am getting confused and would really appreciate some recommendations of restaurants. What food is served? and prices?

Thanks Tanya

We enjoyed our meal at the Liberty Tree Tavern in MK, mashed potato, meats etc, a nice meal with the characters, and we also enjoyed a meal in Epcot in a slowly revolving restaurant (can't for the life of me remember what it was called- bit late, need to go to bed) but both were very reasonable. We have also done Mickeys back yard BBQ- but wouldn't recommend this at all. Prices were all reasonable about £20 per head all in, I think.

Tanya if you can give us a bit more info perhaps we can be more helpful! :)

Character dining experiences occur all over WDW, this (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/dining/advancedDiningFinder?location=&diningExperience=Character+Dining&cuisine=&experience=&allprices=true&allMeals=true&restaurantName=&submit=submit&x=30&y=16) should give you a comprehensive list.

Chef Mickeys is good aswell. It's a buffet meal with nice puddings :D .

The kids enjoyed it, especially the 10yo & 6Yo - you had to wave your napkins in the air & that sort of thing!

The monorail also goes past the restaurant & the kids enjoyed looking at that, and when you've done you can see the fireworks at MK from the balcony.

crystal palace - breakfast

DS who was 10 at the time loved Chef Mickey's (breakfast) and wants to do it again this year, but have decided to go to Crystal Palace, just to try another venue

Hi, can anyone help me

I've been a few times before but not done the character dining.
It is my girlfriends first time and its the sort of thing she will love. I was looking at going for breakfast at Chef Mickeys and i wanted to know a couple of things

Do i need to be stayingin a disney hotel to do this?
What times are the breakfasts from? and finally
Is it the sort of thing i can book in the parks or can i do it before we leave and how?

Hope i don't sound like i'm asking some silly questions

Thanks

No question is silly.

You don't have to be staying at a Disney hotel to book an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR) - if you know when you want to go, you can book up to 180 days before. I use this number for cheap calls from the UK (1p/min): 0844 861 5757 then the ADR Number 001 407 939 3463

Not sure about times, but I think generally from around 0800 to 1030 - hopefully someone else can confirm.

Would definitely consider booking now, as they can get fully booked well in advance. If possible, try to be flexible on your dates and you should probably manage to get a reservation.

Good luck.
