I'm sure I read on here that there's a shuttle launch planned for 21st March - is that right? We go out on 22nd so DH is hoping that it will get delayed and he will get to see it. If that's the case then I was hoping to find out the best place to see a launch? Are you better off trying to see it from Coco Beach than trying to get to Kennedy - I imagine the traffic would be a nightmare?
It looks as if the March launch is on the 11th,

we were hoping to see it too but will arrive a few days too late! :(

Don't give up hope, launches are very often delayed. If you do miss the take off, you could possibly see the landing couldn't you?

Hi Michelle, ive had a look at the web site for nasa, that was posted on here, like they say it could be delayed, but if you are there when it goes up, boy you have got get there early, we saw discovery going up in summer 2006, wow!! we were at cocoa beach and you could feel the roar in your chest, even that far away, so what its like closer, well who knows, i hope you are there to see it. Because things like that don't happen every day.
All the best bigcol.

We depart for orlando on the 21st March as well, I don't think the launch will get delayed by 10-11 days but we may be lucky to be in the area when it lands, other dibbs say you can hear it re-entering the atmosphere.
We were lucky enough to watch Discovery take off in 1998 at KSC, the noise is something to be heard if possible.
