Ok we're off to Orlando first week in Sept for 2 weeks, we're not doing any Disney Parks. I've got an itinerary made but I have 2 full weekends with nothing to do. Any suggestions other than shopping and also somewhere that won't involve too many queues when the locals come out to play?

Not sure what you've already got on your itinary - how about Sea World, Kennedy Space Centre, Silver Springs, helicopter ride, mini golf, dinner show(s) - we especially like Medieval Times, visit a beach (St Petes or Clearwater), shopping. Oooh, so much to do and I can't get there again until next year

The queues shouldn't be too bad anywhere at the beginning of Sept. We did find the shopping malls were very crowded on Labor day though which is the first Monday in Sept.

How about mini golf, and maybe a look round one of the Disney resorts with a meal there. The Sea Raycer boats can be hired from some of the resorts and from DTD.

I'd gp to St. Augustine for the weekend. We went one year for Easter weekend and we're going to go back in October. It's a lovely city - only place in Florida with any real history and can easily fill a weekend. Didn't find it too busy - even over Easter. Have a look at www.oldcity.com for some details/ideas. Takes about 2 hours to get there and it's an easy drive.

Silver Springs would be my recommendation too. Relaxed day with several boat trips included and worth it for the spectacular scenery and of course the captains and their "patter".

Boggy Creek for an exhilirating air boat experience might be another option.

Head to one of the beaches, cocoa or clearwater perhaps. Gatorland is a good day out as well.

How about a baseball game. We go to both Major and Minor league games.
Do you like motorsport?, How about some good 'ole stockcar racing on the many short oval tracks around Florida. Want to spend some time living like a redneck [we do,lol] then this is definately the place.

Silver Springs looks good, in fact even though its been one of those "to do" places we havent been yet. But next trip its a definate.

Tarpon Springs and Ybor City near Tampa could be worth a look too.
