Hi there,
I was looking at booking Air Florida Helicopters Tour 5 or 7 for me, DH, DD10 and DS8 and was wondering if anyone had done it and if it's worth the money (Tour 7).
Will my children enjoy it and how do you take pictures/camcorder it?
Also, i'm afraid of heights (more so falling to my death from a great height!) and was wondering how securely you're strapped in!!
Thanks for all your help :wavey:

We have not done one but our friends have and they loved it! It went to every park except MK (no fly zone) and over the wilder areas.
As for being afraid of heights, being in a helicopter still fascinates me more than traditional flying but is an eerie flying. You can be strapped if you wanted to be but you would miss some of the fun. Give it a go I say!

I'm planning on doing Tour 7 (I think), well the one that goes over all of the parks. I think it'll be a great experience, I imagine I'll take hundreds of photos.

We went on the helicopter between Quality inn Plaza and Race Rock and wouldn't do it again. We recorded it and when we got home showed a friend who said 'do you know you only spent 3 minutes in the air' we didn't go over SeaWorld or Discovery cove and we thought it was a waste of money, but having never been in a helicopter before at least we can now say we did it!!

My SIL and her partner did this yesterday and they loved it! I'm wondering if your experience Benno1 was cut short for some reason? Their's was the full time and they felt they got their moneys worth and would certainly do it again.
They had their photos waiting for them when they got back and they were really good!

I'm wondering if it is at the same place, there wasn't any chance to buy photos when we went but it was in 2003 it might be that things changed.

From your description it sounds like the same place. It seems like everywhere you go they take your picture now so I'm sure it was probably something that was added since you've been. At least it sounds like they've improved.

I done this in 2004, we loved it went over sea world had a cracking view of it, then done the disney parks, universal , my DD was 10 at the time, she soooo loved it.
The pilot speaks to you all the time pointing out places, (not that you need him to) ;) through headphones, it is quite noisy inside the chopper, but we understood everything he was telling us.
We done it from the one by race rock, it was so worth the money, I used my camcorder which made some pretty good viewing back home.
I would definetly do it again, the flight was brilliant and I would reccommend it to anyone who has the chance to do it.

I did it with DW DD x 3 and DS and went over the parks etc. I'm not one for heights but we all thought it was good and to be honest it really made us understand why we were so tired walking round the parks as you dont realise howbig they are until you go over them. This year its Swmming with Mannatees so something different again. Cant wait.

I think we must have caught the pilot on an off day - perhaps he had had a blue with the wife because he never even said anything in the helicopter - then again it could have been the fact that me and my DH are a bit odd :pgig: :pgig: :pgig: Who knows. Perhaps we should try it again and pretend to be normal like everyone else (that's going to be difficult)
