Hi the only time I've been to cocoa beach it was July and the sea was really warm. We are in Orlando end of April, will the sea be really cold at this time of year? Would like to try clearwater but it seems a long way to drive for a day. Thanks for any help

Not sure about the temperatures as we went in September so it was still nice however don't be out off by Clearwater's distance as it only takes about an hour and a half to drive down there, we always go just for a day visit.

There isn't a great deal in sea temperature difference in April

See here for more info.

The drive to clearwater is 90 Mins as moon says, not a huge differece from the east coast but might be nice for a change.

Water temperature off Cocoa Beach is 72F today. So I would think it would be warmer in April.

We like Cocoa Beach, but much prefer the Gulf Coast. The warmer is warmer and gentler there and the beaches are gorgeous.
