Saratoga Springs Hints and Tips

Hi
We are staying here in August (we are not DVC members :( ) and I was just wondering if anyone has hints or tips about the resort. Where are the best rooms, how easy is it to get to DTD by boat and has anyone eaten at the on site restaurants and what were they like?

Comments on anything else that wew should know would be useful.

You're going to have a fabulous time! We've stayed there twice now (we were there last week *sigh*) and the Resort is truly gorgeous!
We have stayed at The Grandstand and Congress Park areas! Both were lovely! The Grandstand was very peaceful, with lovely views over the golf course and a great pool, but our favourite would have to be Congress Park! We had the most amazing view of DTD and the walk to Marketplace (DTD) from our room took exactly 6 minutes!
The boats run very frequently (i think it's every 20 minutes) to DTD and Old Key West, but depending on your room location it may be quicker to walk!
The Turf Club restuarant is gorgeous and one of our favourite WDW restuarants and they do a mean beef & blue sandwich at the food court! :tounge:
As you can see i love the place and can't wait to return at christmas!

Our favourite location would be Congress Parl too. If your staying in a studio request a building that has a quiet pool close by as that's where the laundrys are located.


Spa and gym facilities are fantastic.

Congress Park and Grandstand, you can walk to DTD from both infact last year we walked from Congress Park to DTD via Grandstand over the wee bridge at the Golf Course and we ended up at HOB

The Springs is good if you have young children as it is closer to the themed pool

anyone else been and found the quiet pools to be just that 'quiet' first year we thought it was too good to be true but last year was the same here is a picture of the pool :)

Thanks for your replies I'm seriously excited now as I booked the first lot of ADR's. I think the Congress Park would suit us perfectly I hope we can get in here.

We stayed in the springs 2 yrs ago and it was a fab location. We used to walk to DTD and take the boat back in the evenning. SSR is an ideal location and can't wait to go back in September !!

We requested Congress Park but got Grandstand and we were so pleased we did. My avatar is our view from our balcony, it was perfect.

We ate at Artist's Pallette a couple of times and the sandwiches etc were fantastic, cooked to order. You can walk to DTD, by going out behind the main building to where the boat jetty is, then you just follow the path along teh West Side car park and you're there!
