I have just joined this board today. So glad I found you.
I can not believe we have booked another florida holiday, we are so lucky. My husband and I are going to stay at the Quality Inn International. I have seen a few bad reviews, but overall good. Can you suggest any room locations for a quiet nights sleep. We have pretty much always stayed at the All Stars and once you shut the door, it was pretty much soundproof.
Our two sons ( nearly 18 are staying at home studying for their final exams)!!!.The price was on par to going to the med for a quick fix of sun. A little pixie dust and the next minute it was booked. We were like big kids ( especially my DH ) and we are coming to Florida. Our friends can not believe it. They do not get the 'Dis thing'. I have that tingling feeling down my spine again.
Any tips would be great.

We stayed at the QII a few yers ago, found it a very good hotel, we were overlooking the pool, and it was quiet, pool is not very busy at night. I would imagine the quieter rooms may be facing on to I Drive itself, they are set well back from the road. Hope you enjoy your stay. I have read bad reviews about every hotel we have stayed in, and we have enjoyed them all. It must be just some peoples perception of what a hotel room should be, us we just want somewhere to sleep, after all, you are not in the room much.

Ask for pool view rooms. We stayed there last May & we're not disappointed. :)

We stayed at the QII in 2004, from what I can remember, there are 2 pools, one looked like a very quite one where as the other was more family orientated.
I would avoid the big blocks of rooms (up to about 9 storeys) especially the ones that look out onto the I4 and car park as they are quite noisy and also there are coaches there first thing in the morning picking up and keep the motor running for ages :nonono: It can be a right pain!!!
Also, the block rooms also seem to have lots (and I mean lots) of Brazilian school children (well teenagers), we had an unfortunate experience with about 50 of them running up and down the landing, screaming and shouting at their friends on the floors above and below at 2am in the morning :mad2: I was not amused as I have 2 children myself and they woke us all up - there didn't seem to be much supervision going on from the teachers either, so that may be a warning for you!!!
Id go for the 2 storey rooms, by the pool, opposite the big block, or like I said, I'm sure there is a quieter part with another pool and 2 storey blocks there.
Overall, we found the hotel to be very central for I-Drive and all the parks, it was clean (the maid was really nice and she kept the room lovely for us!) and the beds were comfy.
Enjoy your trip!!! :thumbs-up

If I were you, I'd ask for a pool view room on a low floor. We did this in 99 and couldn't fault the rooms we got. We've been twice since then (just me and DH) and were given rooms side by side two years apart overlooking the car park. This was noisier as there's a restaurant next door and the garbage men come at like 5am to empty the bottle bin :omg: . We did get used to the noise and didn't even notice it by the end of the holiday tho.
