Hi there,
Hoping to stay in Miami for 3 nights on 22/9/08 before we hit WDW on 25/09/08, wanting to stay in Miami Beach so can anyone recommend a decent but not too expensive hotel.
There will be 2 adults and 2 children (aged 10 & 8).
Many thanks for your help :wavey:

Have to be careful with Miami.
Stayed their twice in awful hotels.
Third time stayed at Crowne Plaza Resort in Sunny Isles which was very nice
Whatever you do choose 4 star upwards as there are too many rubbish 3 stars.
Also a lot of the hotels are in a place called sunny isles which is a fair old trek into Miami centre and you will need a car.
Choose carefully!!!!

We are staying at the Holiday Inn (Port of Miami), which is opposite Bayside and a 5/10 min drive to South Beach. We've visited Miami before and seen the hotel and it looks fine. We've paid £52 per night. :wavey:

Depending on what you are looking to do when you get to Miami is key to where you want to stay. If you are looking to stay in the South Beach area then I can't help you I'm afraid, only to say that hotels we looked at were much more expensive than at the Biscayne area where we eventually stayed.
This was better for us as we were pre-cruise, and being close to Biscayne market place was a definite plus. We ended up staying at the Marriott at Biscayne bay and I would definitely stay there again. Nice rooms, clean and great view overlooking the port.
Downside was having to take taxi to South Beach, but TBH it wasn't that far or expensive.
I will recommend the Miami Duck Tour though - great fun and a great way of seeing the different areas of Miami.
