Has any body been on this...If so what is it like please, I assume it like a fast car by the reading I have done so far. Also any info on the Old Town would be great too-Eateries-Shops atmosphere etc. I have read about the cars on Fri/sat nights and the Bikes Thursdays but any more info is welcome thank you Xx :d: :spin: :d:

Went on it a couple of years ago. Basically it's a drag car simulation. Get in the car, wait for the lights to turn green then hit the throttle. The track is maybe 200 metres long and you simply accelerate really quickly. This being the case the actual ride lasts 4 or 5 seconds.

I thought it was a blast. Even though the simulated nitro drag car noise was pitifully quiet compared to the real thing. Now a rel life nitro drag racer is real noise, so loud you can feel your organs vibtate.

Only ride I've done at at Old Town, but I tried the sky surfer elsewhere and that also slots into the "it was a blast" category.

Our youngest son who is nearly 16, nagged us senseless to go on this last October!! DH went on with them and me and eldest DS (17) watched. He will go on a lot of things, but drew the line at this one (to begin with!!) I had to look away as they whizzed past as the speed was frightening. The noise was bad enough at the start!! DH who has nerves of steel and will go on anything, said he wouldn`t go on it again!! Youngest DS then managed to persuade eldest DS to go on it. 0-110mph is just under 2 seconds, sheer madness if you ask me, I wouldn`t have gone on it for love or money!! ;-) www.fun-spot.com www.old-town.com Old Town is not our cup of tea at all, so we didn`t go there. We`ve been there once before and once was more than enough!! Once they`d been on G-Force we were away from there. :-)

We love Old Town!
G-Force is a must...hubby must have done it at least 10 times!! I've done it 4 or 5 times, and it's so good!
The Sky Coaster is fab too!

There is so much to do at Old Town, G-Force, Sky Coaster, Car night, Bike night, lots of bars, live entertainment, black light mini golf, and full motion nascar simulators, lots of little shops selling bits and bobs!
As for food, you have some options accross the road, ie: Bennigans, Logans Roadhouse and Pacinos (look at my trippies for pics)!!
Checkers is near by for take out burgers etc

Some people give Old Town bad reviews, but i really think it's somewhere you just have to go and try for yourself, and see what you think. It's definitely one place we look forward to going when we're in Florida!! :thumbs-up

DH and BIL would like to go back to see the motorbikes, but for a basic day out I wouldn't go back. Thought it was very run down, toilets were dirty,(sorry but I'm one of these really picky people who think the state of the Ladies loo matters!) and we gave the funfair side of it a wide berth, cos it looked like the travelling fairs we used to have when I was a kid...
I think I was disappointed cos I expected to see a quaint, old fashioned "town" with loads of character.

We went on the G-Force and Skycoaster. G-Force was a breeze compared to Skycoaster though.

G-Force does take your breathe away, but would reccommend it.
Skycoaster..i was fine with the freefall, it was the going up part i wasnt keen on.

I have now seen this on You tube and I think I will give it a go. I don't think DD will so DH will have to go on twice, with me and DS lol.
I think I will like Old town, and I know the boys will love the cars and bikes. Thank you for your replies x

We love Old Town and have made a point of going there every year we have been to Florida.

The car parade is great, there is a great selection of shops, Wound N Around is one of my fave's, I buy lots of rock n roll CD's there and we have had the "old style" photo's taken there a few times too.

There is a great little chinese place we have something to eat and we always let the kids have a go on the rides while there. There is also a great shop called Annie's Gifts we get bits n bobs from...

Totally love Old Town, one of our faves.
