View Full Version : Halloween Events - HHN & MNSSHP
The Abbotts!
23 Feb 08, 11:33 AM
We're looking to go again this September/October and are looking to experience the Halloween events at both Disney and Universal.
We understand that regular park tickets aren't valid for the special halloween events at either Disney or Universal, so can anybody advise what types of tickets are required and roughly how much they cost (and when/where you get them)? We are two adults and two kids, although the kids will be 11 & 14 by then.
I seem to recall that for Universal, all regular park goers leave at closing time and anybody wishing to attend the HHN have to have separate tickets and are given wrist bands to identify them (is that right?). What about Disney? Do they do similar i.e., everybody else leaves and then with separate tickets you go into the parks for the night?
Actually, it might be easier to summarise:spin:
How much (approx) are the HHN & MNSSHP tickets?
When & where do you get them?
How many days are they valid for?
What are (roughly) the opening/closing times for the events?
Which parks have halloween events/attractions (US, IOV, MK, AK, MGM, EPCOT Etc.?)
Can you still go on all the rides at night?
How do they distinguish between regular park goers and halloween event ticket holders? Thanks all in advance for your assistance!:wavey:

What he said :D
At HHN the park closes and everyone has to leave except those with Stay & Scream or other HHN tickets, those people can stay in a holding area until the park re-opens for the event. You can buy a Stay & Scream ticket for HHN which is an add on to daytime admission for around $25 if you intend to visit Universal on the same day as HHN, this allows you to stay in the park after it closes to day guests. It gives you a bit of a head start on the crowds and the chance of a few rides with no lines.
Both events are fantastic fun, but HHN definately not for kids (they do not sell child tickets) or anyone of a nervous disposition!
Also worth adding Howl o Scream at Busch Gardens, very similar to HHN.

We went to MNSSHP in 2006, it cost us for 4, about 100 pounds. we got the tickets off the Disney website, they won't be on sale until may. Just type in MNSSHP and the sites will give you the info you need.

Never done Universal halloween but we get emails every year offering half price tickets for AP holders. With free parking and discounts it might be worth getting one AP in the family.

Have done MNSSHP - highly recommended and very good value for money.
Also have done Howl O Scream at Busch, geared more towards teenagers and older as HHN. The park closes early, if you have a stay and scream ticket you are allowed to remain in 1 section of the park, all rides closed while the park gets emptied. We had a nice buffet meal during this period then got early access to the houses.
We purchased a weekend pass, for $80 each gave 4 days entry, Thursday through Sunday to the park during the day and Howl O Scream at night.
hi just wanted to ask can you add stay and scream when you have allready bought the new 6 park flex ticket ? and does disney do asimilar add on to there tickets
many thanks

Annual pass. 1st year costs about £90 but they sometimes do buy 1 year get one free, then it only costs £50/year to renew every year after that.
Both parks for £50/year includes free parking, discounts off food, hotels, merchandise and tickets.
We save more than £50/ year with them.
