Yes & No!
Similar in that Hollywood Studios & Universal Studios are alike, but different.
They appear the same on paper but both offer a good, different, day out, BG for me is worth the trip.

Busch has more in the way of coasters and thrill rides, whereas AK really only has Everest for that.
Animal wise, I think AK SEEMS more of a natural environment whereas imho parts of BG still resemble an old fashioned zoo (despite improvements).
Both are worth a visit, but we only do BG once every 2-3 trips whereas we do AK each time.

They are similar in some ways but AK is far more of a superior park. We visited Busch last December and were very dissapointed with it. It was a long way to go and to be honest a waste of a day.

It doesn't have the Disney magic but BG well worth the trip - if you love roller coasters!!

Totally agree with Motty1969!
When you go to AK everything you want to see is included in the price, but I found BG charging extra for the safari a bit cheeky after paying to go in.....

You only had to pay extra if you wanted extra, the Animals are still visable from the Safari or train rides. The paying bit gets you closer so you can stroke them and hear more information with a smaller group.

We also felt that AK was a superior park, AK seams a more natural enviorment for the animals. BG is good for rides. Disney in my opinion do things so well. JULIE XX

Both a definite for animal lovers! They are similar but the animal kingdom still has the disney feel and i feel that it was a little more closed in than busch gardens. Busch is also quite a drive away so bear this in mind. The optional animal encounters in busch are once in a lifetimes i.e giraffe feeding. Gotta say though they are on a level as far as which one we enjoyed best! Needless to say we are doing both again this year!

I loved Busch Gardens! From the coasters, the rides, the Dinsour play area and little rides for younger children - and the food! We sat under Sheikra then puddings were FAB!!
Personally I feel AK is Disneys 'weaker' park out of them all. Think BOTH worth visit and then make your own mind up.

We think BG is well worth a trip........... Some great rides and attractions. We have never thought to compare it with AK as the only similarity is that they both have animals!!

I think they are both very different and would agree that Busch is more for the coaster fans, and AK - far superior park and more for the aniaml lovers. We are going to Busch this year for the first time in over 10 years - but only because we are staying at St Petes for 5 nts, I personally wouldnt bother with the drive from Orlando, as there are so many other great things there :) xx
