We go at least once or twice every trip. The cinemas are great with really comfortable seats that arr arranged so that you can't see the head of the person in front :thumb:

We've been to the cinema in Orlando to see Lion King. I can't remember which one we went to but I will check.
The main things I remember is that its absolutely FREEZING in there, so take a cardie or something! And they all clap after the film - Love it!! :wiggle:

There is a cinema in City Walk, Universal and one in Downtown Disney. Our cinemas are now much more Americanised than they were - when I lived in the States years ago, I couldn't believe the cinemas - with big, plush seats and giant buckets of buttered popcorn (plus lots of choice of films of course), but there isn't so much difference now

We go to the cinema at Pointe Orlando at least twice per holiday, it is very much the same as ours only cleaner!!!!.We go because the films they show aren't shown over here for about 6 months , we tend to go in the afternoon just to have a rest from the heat, and usually there are only 4 or 5 people in there. The only thing is is that when you come out of the air conditioned cinema the heat feels even hotter - but soooo nice!! :pgig: :pgig:

I liked the fact that you could lift up the armrests, also reinforce the point that you will probably be wearing shorts, t-shirts, so wrap up. I was frozen.

ive been to the pictures at citywalk to watch three kings (george clooney), at the time i was weighing about 21 stone and im very broad with it across the shoulders anyway point is when we went we sat behind 3 very large african women, you can imagine like the woman out of tom and jerry and they were bigger than me,point is the seats are more than big enough ,they are also comfortable with plenty of leg room, also tilt and all have good view, the one at downtown disney is the same ,weve been to that one on our last day of our last 2 trips,we love it the kids love,we will do it every year

We really enjoyed the big comfy seats in the cinema at Celebration with the olde world feeling, especially like others have said because your view isn't blocked by the person sat infront of you. DTD was good too with lots of choices of films.

We always enjoy going to the cinema at least once when in florida as its something we can all do after a full day at the parks a nice rest in the comfortable seats watching a movie.
Be careful as the seats can be too comfortable and it is not unknown for one of our party to miss the film completely due the the seats and tiredness

We went to the one at unverisal as everyone has mentioned it is very cold but seats are really comfy!
...........I loved everyone clapping at the end!
We go to the 1 at universal citywalk, it is cold , so take a jacket, but it's always half empty and it's a really nice way to relax away from the heat and crowds!! highly reccomended!:wavey:

Tried the theatres at Pointe, Citywalk and DTD, all are nice with comfy seat and good views. We saw Beowulf in 3D at Citywalk and the picture quality was very high.
There are plenty of cinemas in the UK that are just the same, but you get to see films early and it is something to do in the evenings

We've been a few times over the years. Celebration, Downtown Disney and last year the new Lakeside(?) Shopping Center at Lakeland.
According to the trailer they ran at the Lakeland multiplex - on Sunday mornings it's used as a church and there are free Krispy Kreemes for the congregation. Now there's a USP that might work with me, heathen that I am!!!

we went for the first time last year, took DD to see The Simpsons the day it was released, at the cinema in Citywalk. It was a completly different experience to watching it here, we had a great time, even though my DW and myself never watch them. looking to go back this year, just need to find a film i think we will all enjoy

We go once a trip (It'll be Iron Man this year probably), the cinemas are pretty much the same, but I have had issues in the past with people talking all the time through the film. Dunno if that is the norm there or not
Oh, and they clap at the end of movies lol

We went to the one at Downtown Disney- we found it much the same as here. The only weird thing was that everyone clapped at the end of the film which was Pirates of the Caribean 2 :d:

We've been to both Downtown Disney and Citywalk and found it to be very enjoyable. You can get pizza delivered to your screen!! And the Americans get really into the film whooping and cheering.

We went to Pointe Orlando and Festival Bay which were so much better than the poor excuse for a cinema we have in guernsey....
Saw I am Legend at the IMAX Pointe Orlando over Christmas which was amazing, DS13 was not too impressed as he found it a little bit scary :pgig:
Only thing I found strange were people who took VERY young children/babies in with them :nonono:

I agree !! We went to the Downtown Disney cinema and was amazed when people brought tiny babies in :omg: One was okay as it slept in its baby carrier through the film ( Shrek 3 ) but the other one was wailing quite a lot, its mother did take it out eventually. :erm:

At the Odeon cinemas over here they do a showing of a film once a week for "Newbies", which is basically a showing where you are allowed to take babies in and watch the film. Not that I would do it. We always have to wait till the kids have gone to bed before we watch anything half decent on the television let alone a film!!

We went to the cinema last July when the last Harry Potter film came out. The cinema we attended was at Eagle Ridge Mall at Lakeland on the US27. The cinema experience was no different to our own cinemas, but the popcorn was nicer and the trays of tortilla chips with cheese sauce were massive compared to the ones we get....cheaper too.

we went to see American Gangster at the one on citywalk in nov, and it was cold... went to the 10.30pm showing, didnth get out till very very late and then spent 40 mins in a taxi because there was a local football game between two rival colleges on. The taxi driver only charged us $5 :-)
but anyways... its excately the same as here, only the films are obviously newer than ones currently showing in the UK.

We went to see Pirates of the Caribbean at the AMC in Downtown Disney last year. Their cinemas are far more comfy than ours but the whole experience is much the same as here in the UK.

Depends how much you enjoy a movie .. DH and I prefer to be able to hear our movies and not have disturbance .. after trying DTD and City Walk cinema we personally wont bother.
The major issues we have with their cinemas is that "very" young children are allowed in and especially if their restless, they are noisy. When we saw a movie at DTD the extra special effects we encountered were, a family with two very young kids who were bored and were playing with fluorescent flashy things, a young kid on his mobile having a very long conversation and generally people getting up and down and munching! It was so bad I have never seen my dad get angry .. we complained and were all refunded in full.
In my opinion .. try it .. but if you are a real movie buff, then avoid :pgig:

We've been to the one in DTD. We didnt experience loads of loud children but I suppose it depends what movie you choose? Its much the same as over here really but we quite enjoyed chilly and watching a movie after a busy day at the park, also gives your feet a rest!!
I found the seats were much bigger, more like armchairs and you couldn't get sweet popcorn only buttered or salted which suited me fine because that's what I prefer! Other than that it was the same for me. We only went once though back in 2001 so it might be different now.

The seats at DTD are lovely - the equivalent of an "executive" seat in any Vue over here.
Last year I had a cinema day - watched Hostel 2, Pirates 3 and Fantastic Four 2 - and they do offers so you can get unlimited drink and popcorn and just get refilled in between films!
