Will be in Florida for Christmas 09. Where in Disney would be a good place to have Christmas Dinner be it traditional or not. Somewher not overly extravagant but not too cheap either that makes a big deal out of Christmas and the kids would be nice???

also, how long in advance would we need to book a table.

We are dining at the California Grill on Christmas Day this year.:thumbs-up

We have been torn between this and the Yachtsmans Steakhouse but we have decided to do the Yachtsmans earlier on in the holiday when the kids are at the Neverland Club.:thumbs-up

You will need to book whichever Disney restaurant you choose, 180 days in advance.

I think it was Leanne - I think the recipe is on allears, so you could check there?

Edited to say I just checked and it says that it has chicken broth in it!!

As a local I always recommend Gaylord Palms. They have a lot going on at the resort so you can nearly make a 1/2 day of it. They have the ICE exhibit, laser light show, ice rink, loads of decorations, find the gnome, etc.. The food is really great and there are several options. A really good option for Christmas Day.

This link (http://www.christmasinorlando.com/index.php?categoryid=11&p18_action=displayeventdetails&p18_eventid=50) is last years website but take a look to get an idea of what they have on offer. The website itself is a great source of information for spending Christmas in Orlando.

We will be at Disney this year and also can’t decide.

Our first thought was the Liberty Tree Tavern. We have eaten here before and liked it, but now we are thinking we would like to eat at a resort restaurant instead, without the interruption of Characters iykwim. we will be doing character dinning during our stay anyway.

I like the thought of the Californian Grill, DH likes the thought of the Yachtsman steak house and both the kids fancy Going to Artist Point. I can’t help thinking they just want to go to the Wilderness Lodge for Christmas Dinner lol

I think we are leaning towards Artist point the menu has things on it we all like. The tables don’t seem so close together as some Disney restaurants and I like the idea of the wine flight.

We stayed in the wilderness Lodge last summer and fell in love with the place.

DS1 had the idea of having our Dinner and then catching the boat over to the MK for the Fireworks later in the night and I must say it does sound appealing.

We are thinking of taking the kids to lunch at Park Fare, then DH and I will do Yachtsmans in the evening - we did this in Xmas 06 and walked over to see the fireworks at Epcot after dinner - it was lovely!!
