Do you have to make an adr for this place?
It says casual dining but then underneath it says to make a reservation, but all of them say the same thing!
I fancy going for an early evening meal ( around 6 ish) before the fireworks (I'm ashamed to say that I have never seen the fireworks at MK :o: )

We plan to go on Weds the 30 April as it's a non emh day, on checking the calendar the park closes at 9pm, so are the fireworks at park closing?
Just one last query, do the shops shut at 9pm, on park closing?
As we have a car this time we won't have to rush to get out for the bus and would like to just bimble about and avoid the mad rush to get out, or I suppose we could get the monorail back to the Contemporary, I presume there is a bar area or coffee shop?

I'd definitely make a reservation if you really want to eat there and at a popular time. The Concourse Steakhouse is closing in May and relocating to another part of the resort with a new name. I think you will just about make eating there.

The shops don't shop straight away at closing and it's a good time to browse. Have a look here (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/parkhours.php) on the Dibb for all Parade/Fireworks etc. They are definitely worth seeing :d:

Thanks for that, it's not an absolute "must" to eat there, I just thought it might be nice.
We'll probably just wing it and try on the day, is there somewhere at the park entrance that tells you what's available and where on the day?

We had quite a nice meal here, but it is the only place where I really felt we got poor service because were on the dining plan. The waiter definitely pushed us towards more expensive entrees and then rushed the service, bring out out steaks while we were still eating our starters. I wasn't at all impressed with the service, but I enjoyed the meal.

If you go into City Hall (or Guest Services at other parks) they can make an ADR for you, and will let you kow what has availability.

If you do eat there, I would park at the Contemporary and leave the car there whilst you go into MK for the fireworks. You can then catch the resort monorail back which is usually far less crowded.

We're going to be at MK from rope drop, hopefully, so I doubt we could park at the Contemporary for that length of time, Isn't 3 hours the limit?
I knew I remembered somewhere you could check on availability at the entrance. :wavey:

OOOh, I see there's a lounge bar with views over bay lake, would that be a good spot for the fireworks, or can you only see the light show thingie from there?
Also, do you have to be 21 to get in? dd is 18 and her bf is 20.

We took our DDs in here when they were 5 & 8 so you'll be fine (though obviously they won't be able to drink;) )

As it faces Bay Lake you can't see the fireworks as it's the wrong side of the Contemporary, though I must add that I've not been for a year or so so if it's moved (??) in all the recent changes at the Contemporary that will not be the case.

Be careful if you are planning on going shopping at park closing time - although the shops are still 'open' there will be CMs at the doors to stop people going in after official park closing time - I found this to my cost last year.

Re the fireworks - there is a calender somewhere that lists the time they are on - sorry don't have the link.

Have to say we had our nicest meal at the Concourse Steakhouse last year & actually ate there twice that time  Really sad that it wont be there next time we go  Their onion rings & dips are fabulous :d:
