There are a number of Outbacks - Formosa Gardens on US192, Vineland Ave near (what was) Dolly Parton's Stampede, near the Florida Mall, and Maingate East just beyond Medieval Times.
I think they have high chairs.

As far as I can remember, pretty much every restaurant I have been to in Orlando has high chairs. As an alternative to Outback, the Longhorn Steakhouses are also very good.
i was telling my mil the other day about all the recomendations the outback gets on here and she said that when they went last year they didnt enjoy it as everything seemed to be covered in quite a spicy coating i presume she meant some kind of spice mix can you ask for things without this as spicy gives me heartburn? :confused2

Their steaks do have a spicy coating, but they do other dishes without.

We have tried the one at Formosa Gardens and loved it. Love the brown bread they bring out while waiting for the dinner.
Much preferred the OUtback to Black Angus.

:tounge: Mmm me too - so much so I tend to eat too much and fill myself up!! Last year I had one of their pasta dishes and it seemed like the dish kept filling itself up :d: DS9 loves it here as well, he's progressed onto the steaks now (used to be a really fussy eater) and then spent the rest of the holiday looking at the cattle we passed saying "bet that one would be good for a joey sirloin". DH adores the steaks here - think he'd eat here every day if he could :)

I love the bread at Outback's I would probably have a couple of loaves for a meal instead of the Steak!! Seriously though if you don't want a spicy sauce just ask for it without, I hate cinnamon apple chips which come with some of the their meals so I just ask for the meal without them. That is one thing in Orlando if you do not want something with your meal which is indicated they will happily let you have it without or in some cases you can choose an alternative. Yum!

I love Outback but hate their baked Sweet Potato which they put cinnamon butter on. They always swap this for something else though.

Hi we eat at the Outback at least once on our holiday, the food is pretty good,we have found its best to avoid Friday and Saturday nights though as it gets very busy.
Smokey Bones is similar to the Outback and is also along the 192,we noticed a lot of the local police seemed to be there eating; )
Mannys Chophouse is by far superior to The Outback in our opinion and really well priced,we only found out about through the Dibb last year and we can't wait to get back ; )(its along the highway 27,Haines City)
I couldn't agree more. Manny's is by far the best Steakhouse I've eaten in. Can get very busy though (not surprisingly!).

If you see the phrase 'dust' or 'dusting' (of spices) on a menu that generally means that they sprinkle something on afterwards and it hasn't come that way from their supplier so there is a chance that you can ask them to leave the dusting off. This is popular with some of our restaurants for our fries and not everyone likes it so you can ask them to leave it off.
As for steakhouses my favorite is Longhorn. If given the choice I wouldn't think twice about which one I'd rather go to. There isn't a thing wrong with Outback I just enjoy the steak at Longhorn more.
If you are wanting to try something other than the ones mentioned already I can add that Logans is a local favorite. There is one at the corner of Sand Lake Road and John Young Parkway by the Walmart.

we like Chilis as an alternative to the Outback, always had great steaks and ribs there, not to mention their white chocolate fountain cake!
