How do you know how much you have spent in order to tip correctly as i believe tip is not included in DDP 2008

Do you get a breakdown of what it would have cost or something.
Do you mentally add it up from the menu prices when ordering and work off of that cost

If you say purchase one child meal and the rest of you are on DDP what does the bill show

Can they tell if you got your DDP free or if you paid for it.

Is there any drop in service levels

If my memory serves me right on your bill they show the amount for the meal and also the suggested gratuity at two levels i.e. 18% and 20% with the amounts worked out for you.

We paid for our DDP as we're DVC members. To be honest we won't do it again. Even without the starter, which used to be included, there is still too much food. Also we are finding that the all the Disney restaurants seem to be serving pretty much the same limited menu and that the quality of the food whilst good is not great. Moving off property you can often get better quality food a lot cheaper.

Also against the DDP is that it ties you to be on Disney property for all your meals and what was a great value offer, really isn't that great anymore.

ADR's need to be made many months before you get to WDW so any spontaneity is gone.

Another minus if traveling with young children is the limited kids menu.

If you're getting it free then great, but remember that you will be paying full rack rate for the room and the value resorts have now been removed from offering the free DDP, meaning you'll be paying top dollar for Moderate of Deluxe accommodation.

Although they ask if you are on the dining plan, I don't believe they can tell if you have paid or not. It may be coincidence but since the decision on amount of gratuity is back in the hands of the customer, the service level seems to have improved. Although I can honestly say that apart from one occasion, the service we have received at Disney has always been pretty high.

Hope some of this helps your decision

Cheers
