i don't know if it's the best because I know some people would say it's not the cheapest but I love the one at Cagan Crossing on the I27. It's 24 hours and it has all I need to satisfy my Walmart cravings!! It does have some nice clothes, I got a fantastic cardigan for $3 a couple of weeks ago!!

Thanks Judith. Bit confused about the "not the cheapest" comment - aren't they all the same??

No they are not, just as not every ASDA (or Tesco etc) is the same price or have exactly the same offers across the UK or even locally either for that matter.
I'm not incuding express outlets or the such as they are obviously more expensive.
Saying that I don't bother what Walmart I visit, usually go for convienience.

The biggest Walmart is apparently the one on the 192 just past Medieval Times.
All the Walmarts I have been to have had the same prices, they do have wider and different ranges of items though.

We didnt think the new one on Turkey Lake rd was as good as the others, didnt seem to have as much stock!

Been to this one and its one of my favourites, also the one at the crossing of Sandlake Rd & John Young parkway!!

We stayed at the BestWestern Lakesdie this christmas and used the one on the 535. I liked it but then i didnt realise there would be many differences other than size and level of stock. That one had everything and more we wanted and took us an age to walk around looking at everything. I beleive the one mentioned on the I27 is the closest to the hotel but we always seemed to be going in that direction when we wanted Walmart. It is handy if you are going to the Lake Buena Vista Outlets too, i loved those shops.
If you want any info on the Bestwestern Lakeside just pm me anytime.
Of the two I've been to, I prefer the one on the 535. I'm less keen on the one by Medievel Times which always seems a bit ... grubby??
Where exactly is the Turkey Lake Road Walmart? Might give that a try this time :)
I'm a Super Target girl though  ;)

I have visited a few Wal Marts and prefer Cagans Crossing. I love the choice available.

We've been to loads of different ones including all those listed in the above replies and we prefer the quieter, well stocked ones even if it means travelling a bit further. We often travel down to the one at Haines City or the one at Clermont.
Prices and availability on larger items varies as does sales tax in the different counties.

We always found the Walmart at Medieval times to be great. The 24 hours opening is very convenient and it always seemed to be busy no matter what time of the day, or night, we called. The variety of goods was unreal.

Well it depends a bit on where you are staying - if you are in a villa it is sort of essential you get some provisions in. However, saying that, even when we stayed at the Grosvenor some years back when the kids went for the first time, we scoured the shops so we could buy the kids little treats and for snacks back in the room when the kids were tired and we just wanted to unwind with a Bud and some chips and dips!
We love shopping over there both food and non-food - we usually go to the Publix (and there are loads of them) but we always loved Walmart - and that was before ASDA got involved. The one we went to was way past Medieval Times and there was so much more choice. The only thing was all our beautiful ice creams and pizzas defrosted a little bit on the way back to the villa. That will be much better for us now since there seem to be a few more dotted about. However please don't think we are on a "self catering" holiday. The only meals we generally have are breakfast and a snack if we get back really late from the parks. We just love the different choices.
You can get almost anything in a Walmart from suntan lotion to a turkey dinner!!!

We use this one but wasn't impressed with the clothes. Asda's at home are far better. It was the price of food that got me, why can't we have it as cheap???????????????????

the best for me is on the 192, just past medieval times,, its at marker 14 u cant miss it,,,, incidentally just b4 at marker 14 on the opp side of road is rack room shoes, had a beano in there as well, if u leave your car in rrs carpark and walk back approx 50 yds or so there is a little outlet flogs sports clothes etc etc,,, we actually found this,,,,cheaper,,,than all the other places you are told to go,,,if interested dont worry about the location, u cannot miss it if in rrs carpark,,,,,,bondy

Such naievity! :confused2
Walmart is ..... well Walmart! It may own Asda but there really is no comparison. It is a shopping destination in it's own right - indeed we set aside a day for trawling Walmart (Target and K-Mart as well)!
I know it's sad and I know that we spend most of the time saying "How much!... that's half the price back home" and can't buy half the stuff we would like to because it would blow our baggage allowance, but it makes us feel good in a warm fuzzy way.
 There... my secret is out!

when your saving %75 on stuff u buy back home ,have 3 breadsnappers like me its well worth it,,getting it thru customs is another issue, it actually makes me angry at the rip off prices here, but i dont drink alcohol, but walmarts prices are less than the v.a.t. here,,,,,,,as kk says,,,luv it, luv it,,,sad, ok, still, luv it,,,,,,,bondy

The one near Medieval Times is very big but we prefer the one at Southern Dunes on the I-27 (Haines City). It’s big, cheap and friendly. Bought my Ipod there last year and always get my DVDs from there.

The Walmart on Turkey Lake is actually the nicest of the Walmart floor plans. It is a new prototype store and is being tested in the retail market. It actually has a better range than most of the Walmarts and if I ever go to one (why would I when I can go to Target?!?!...joking...but it is my preference) I will only go to the Turkey Lake store.
I actually work in the construction industry here in Orlando and spoke to management after the store was opened. It is geared more towards the out of towner/holiday goer with the larger range of souvenirs.
It just boils down to each persons preference after they've been able to compare a few places against each other.

we used the 535 store a fair bit, its older but seemd to be used by locals, so that cannot be bad

Can someone tell me where exactly this wal-mart is?
Thanks

It's on the US27, just north of where the 192 west joins the US27 on the right hand side.

See this page, there is a specific Florida POI file at the bottom which includes Walmart.

I don't shop at Wal-Mart at all myself. It's got a very bad reputation here in the US, certainly... it's cheap, yes, but for all the wrong reasons. Wikipedia even has an entire article on it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Wal-Mart) so I needn't post it all here.
Buyer beware!

Yes but I for one would rather shop somewhere I know is treating it's employees properly. May be that is because I work for a company who does, but I would think twice about shopping at Wal-Mart.

Another vote for Cagan Crossing I-27.
This summer we met 3 families that we knew from the Belfast area while shopping and all on the same night. DD kept saying " He goes to my school" None of them connected. Even met a family I hadn't seen for 14 yrs.

i bought the book "the walmart effect" whilst on holiday, wilkpedia doesn't mention the half of it. just how do they get a dress (for a toddler) fully smocked and embroidered and sell it for $3 ? the materials must cost at least that. i do try and limit my spending there!
