If it's a character meal you'll want to spend more time there to make the most of meeting the characters. Otherwise it's down to how fast and how much you eat and how fast the service is if it's table service.

The dining section on the left has lots of info, menus and reviews of restaurants. If you just want a quick bite then counter service is the way to go or even get something you can eat in your room before you set off for the parks.

Some of the character meals are actually in the parks. If you intend to spend a whole day at a park you could break off for a late lunch at one of the restaurants.

Depending if you have a car you could also go for an early breakfast on a non EMH day and get into the park early and be ready for the rides as soon as the park opens.

You can easily do a character breakfast then go to the park. They start around 7am. Park at the TTC (MK parking lot) for Ohana and take the monorail to the Poly. Ohana breakfast is great fun and the food is lovely, we've done it twice, Stitch is a riot. It's a lovely way to start the day.

If you don't want to travel to a resort you have Crystal Palace in the MK, book an early ADR for breakfast and they will let you into the park before it opens. You can get some great photos before the crowds appear, have a lovely buffet breakfast with Pooh and friends and still make rope drop.
