ADR's all done and dusted.....so I thought. Then DH comes along and starts looking at the menu's and reports on the Flying Fish. Guess what he really wants to eat there now!

We don't want to swap either the Yachtsmans or the California Grill which are our other two signature restaurants. The only one left to swap then is Jiko, and I'm seriously considering this now.

I know the Flying Fish has had some great reviews lately, but any other opinions welcome.

Bob & Dawn's current trip report has reviews of both and Flying Fish came out better than Jiko this time round. I would certainly give FF serious thought after reading this report. It sounds like some changes have been made to the recipes in Jiko and not all for the better. It is of course individual preference but have seen a few mixed reviews of Jiko recently. We loved it when we went but would think twice about going back - maybe wait until the new chef beds in a bit more!

I dont know what I would do Judy. I was weighing it up too when it came to choosing between the two. In the end I went for the Flying Fish based on current reviews. Bob and Dawn's report makes me think I might have chosen well.

I think I'd plump for the FF Judy.

I'm a real fan of Jiko, but the current Chef has been making changes to both the menu and cooking styles - I'm really not sure what direction he's going in.......

I've not been to FF since Oct 06 (fabulous meal) but I'm looking forward to eating there again in May - even more so since I've seen Bob's pics :tounge:

We'll be eating at Jiko too - but I have to say, if we weren't staying at AKL I'm not sure it would be on the list this time.

FF is pricier than Jiko so you'll get more value for your credits on the DDP too.
