Hi

Is it worth booking an ADR for the California Grill when we have 4 young boys (8, 5, 3,3)? :confused2

It's one I've always wanted to dine in but don't know if the children will appreciate it.

Has anyone been with kids? What's the kids menu like?

Thanks

We have recently been with our two children who are 10 and 7. I am lucky in that my two love trying new foods and aren't fussy eaters. However, they have a childrens menu there which has all the usual kids favourites. I was also worried that it would be more adult orientated. I found it very kid friendly and there were lots of families there. They even give out colouring sheets and crayons for the children.

It turned out to be our favourite restaurant of the whole trip and we will certainly be going back, so I would say give it a go.

It was our fav meal of our trip too last Sept.:thumbs-up

My boys were 6 and 5 at the time. They also picked it as their favourite meal. My boys are very fussy eaters and won't eat anything thats green or vaguely vegetable like!
But they had the kids menu and picked the pizza which looked so nice.:tounge: They both ate all of it.

They would also recommend the chocolate pudding for dessert. They loved this, its just like chocolate mousse.

I was worried about taking them initially but they were very well behaved. I did take a few things in with us to keep them amused in between courses which worked great.

Go for it, you'll love it.:thumbs-up

Thanks Leanne, think I might just go for it, was it expensive? Do under 3's eat free?

Regarding under 3's, if you ask for an extra plate then they can eat free from your plate (or anyone elses!). But if you want to order them a kids meal you will be expected to pay.

The kids meals are quite large so I don't think you would have a problem splitting a kids meal between 2 of them.:thumbs-up

We were on the free DDP so we didn't have to pay for the meal which was great.

Heres a guide to the menu and price for adults,

And for the kids,

But we will definately be going back and paying for a meal in Dec.:thumbs-up

Just read your original post and see you have 2 children aged 3 or under. If so I would order them a meal between them as I doubt they will eat one each.

Myself ,DW and our 2 year olds are heading for the California Grill.
We are really looking forward to it.
I am still trying to work out why my two are so badly behaved when eating at home, but when dining out behave like 2 little angels.

We brought our 4 to the Yacht Club Steakhouse this year. It was our 'posh' meal experience and they all loved it.

They also loved the desserts.

What time are the fireworks on for the night you wish to go?

We booked for approx 1 hour before they started. I don't wish to be a profit of doom but if you are thinking of dining pretty soon then you may have a problem getting a reservation. A lot of people book it 180 days out. If you definately want to go I would be calling asap.
