Are xbox 360 games region coded? I was wondering if i bought any games in Florida would they work on my xbox here.

yes they most definitely are region coded, us games are in NTSC format and uk/european games are in PAL format so us games will not work in a uk 360 as the xbox 360 in not region free, as spoony pointed out in the link to play asia some will work but predominantly only the NTSC/J games (japanese versions which you wont be able to buy in the us)

I wouldn't get hung up on the NTSC vs Pal issue in relation to the XBox 360 as you will no doubt be playing Hi-def anyway and the number of lines is then irrelevant.

The compatible games are limited but lots of the major games such as Assassins Creed, Halo 3. Gears of war, Half Life 2 etc will be OK.
Check the list if you see one you want and it works go for it.

we had COD4 bought for us on florida it works fine but we did check the site printed in the above post first to see if it was compatible
